New Event: Dragon Festival!

Haha, I'm with you there. I just can't see them continually doing events and adding new items to collect without giving us the room to hold them. When they implement this, they know people will want them and will get them, but we're still sitting with the tiny 20-slot Xunlai storage, and bags full of armor sets, runes, weapon sets, and whatever Xunlai doesn't have room for. There has to be a change soon. Not that I expect it, but I can hope.

I want my Bowser mask.. now! but I'll gladly take more storage space because I just bought a new set of 15k armor and don't want to get rid of the 15k set I was previously wearing..

well judging on last farm in cantha event they shouldn't be too hard bloodied. and doomlord hey ya gotta have hopes right? Alos sorry to sound ubernooby but what's QFT mean? For some reason I have this wierd idea in my head that it means quit ****ing trying which I highly doubt due to context.

Why wouldn't this be a sales ploy? It obviously is for those who own Prophecies but not Factions.

hmmm let's think why wouldn't this be a sales ploy? one, because only someone alreayd interested in GW would know about it, two let's think here, oh that's right, prophecies doesn't have a timeline or a REAL history, FACTIONS does, I am sure they would have loved to fit in an event for proph but it just wouldn't fit, and maybe p'rhaps they see that Cantha is hot and tyria is not right now(sorry for the cliche but im awfully bored and a little tired so I can't think), if this was a marketing ploy they would umm MARKET IT. Finally, how do you know? anet could have something for Tyria alone in the mix right now! Ever thought of that? Quit trying to make Anet look like the bad guy.

lol yeah.. add another bag event would be sweet- gets to the point where you can't even hold all your useful customized stuff onto a char.. you have to split it up and put custom stuff on a mule and forget you even have it- even with new char slots it would be nice to keep your custom gear together.. the warrior definitely needs way more space than any of my other characters- like double.. if there was a way to sacrifice a slot to do that

but I know that's not gonna happen so bring on the crazy masks

and factions has 2 events now. this ones 5 days long not 9 hours!

well this is the best looking and most collectable mask i've seen in gw, looks great and also looks like they are dyable. if only they'd give them stats so i could use them as proper armour or if they could slip over your existng helm so you still get protection but also a cool mask.

The people complaining that it's a Cantha-only event are incredibly silly. I hear you can only make assassins in Cantha too, zomg ANET HATES PROPHECIES.

I support the idea of having Cantha only events and have no problem with them doing so. I don't even mind if they do Tyria only events, though it doesn't matter to me as I have both.

However, the quoted answer is a cop-out answer. It's like theL Q'why cant we access the earlier missions in Tyria' answer - A'because it doesn't make sense in the timeline at the point where you cross over'. Well duh, don't make it so that you get to Lion's Arch after it happens.. The poster was more likely wanting an event 'created, not already set in the annals of history like real life, gasp gasp' that would fit into both campaigns. People forget that these things are entirely fictional and made up, and as such can be made up in different ways - can anyone say Balthazar's Day for the summer event? I knew you could. That's like asking why Doom 3 couldn't have started out with 8 player multi-player and someone answering 'because there are only 4 slots in there so it wouldn't make sense to have 8 players'.

HAVING SAID THAT, my answer would be that they are focusing on the newer campaigns because that is what they are pushing now. So go out and buy it if you want new stuff. I don't mind that StarWars Galactic Battlegrounds was only supported for two movies and then Empire at War took over as the Star Wars RTS after the third. It's an old game, the other one is the new game. The same applies here, Prophecies is a year old, Factions is brand new. You still get the fall and winter festivals, maybe even something else.

Now, let's all go and have a nice time at the Dragon Festival, get our masks, and go taunt those back in Tyria to buy Factions so that the rest of us can continue to play future versions :-) or at least just to get a kick out of it...

Remember guys, the most important reason it's Canthan only is because people who only have prophecies will want to participate in the event, hence, buys a copy of factions.

It's all marketing in the business world - and Anet is a business . And even if they get a small number of people to do it, money is money.

Look it's a stand alone game but for all purpose you can think of it as an expansion thus expect most content to be focused on the newest chapter. No one would be complaining if Factions was an expansion and not a game that can also stand on it's own. Excuse A.Net for allowing for extra accessiblity to their game.

Not to mention they *have* been adding content to Prophices which is more then i'd require from then. Alas this is about the event itself and not storage and all this "a.net should do this and that."

As for where the Jade Wind things will drop... good theory. I wonder however if they will add enemies of lesser difficulty of the afflicted to the starting areas. After all it seems like there will be quit a few changes with "mini missions" and "wack-a-worm" which makes me wonder... are the giant worms from Chapter 1 going to be making an appearance? o_O Or maybe cute mini versions

Yay! Dragon Masks!

My characters are giddy with excitement.

Now, there are threads in Sardelac asking for a summer event... I have a question. Did Anet already have this planned for a while, or was it because of the suggestors in Sardelac?

The whack-a-worm sounds really interesting... if they're anything like wurms... i think they'll be whacking us^^.

Hey, at least with the extended period, people will have time to collect their masks^^.
