In the spirit of celebration, adventurers on the continent of Cantha are cordially invited to the Dragon Festival, a summer festival with all the trimmings!
After the destruction wrought by the Jade Wind, the newly crowned Emperor Hanjai (the eldest son of the assassinated emperor) oversaw the settlement of Shing Jea Island and the expansion of Kaineng City. The following summer, Emperor Hanjai dedicated a new Dragon Festival to commemorate the survival of the Empire of the Dragon.
Participants in the Dragon Festival can join in fun carnival-type games (Whack-A-Worm, anyone?), play new mini-missions and special PvP gameplay, undertake unique quests, and collect Asian-flavored treats such as red bean cakes and rice wine. Ceremonial Dragon Masks will be awarded to those players who are able to collect enough globes filled with the Jade Wind essence that changed Cantha two hundred year ago. The conclusion of the Dragon Festival will be marked with surprises true Canthans won't want to miss.
Taking place in and around the Shing Jea Monastery on June 30, 2006 at 7:00 GMT and running through July 5, 2006 at 7:00 GMT, the Dragon Festival is an exclusive weekend event for Guild Wars Factions players.

every single on of my tyrian characters are at shing jea......infact its the town i always visit for visiting traders etc as its most easily navigated.

I wasent here on the Winter hoiday, but some of my Guildie saids to collect some items to trade with spiecal holiday collectors... is that true? Like Charr Charvings... and some other stuff. Should I start stocking up? Atila The Hunny
if u are just getting guildwars factions to update ur tyrian characters after going to kaineng center how do u get to the monastry??

Run or fight to the Marketplace (due south of KC), then there is a "something" pier (explorable area I cant remember the exact name) that zones off of the Marketplace, there is a guy in that explorable area on the water front that will get you passage to Shig jea Monastery. The Pier area ia explorable but no bad guys. Bukdek Byway between KC and the marketplace has level 20 mobs so unless you can run it, easiest thing to do is fight south with a full group of Henchies, Ive done it with a lvl 11 monk so its do-able

South east to the marketplace, then to the dock, Speak with the first mate, he will take you to seitung temple. then head northwest to linnock courtyard, then through the gate to the monestary. IIRC

How can there still be those ignorant people in the world. We could already get to the island from the start of Factions. And about a month ago, they even gave the Tyrian characters the ability to do the two mission on the island.
If you dont believe me, go to the island, look around and start wondering what all those Tyrian characters are doing there. And if you read the official update for the Dragon Festival, they also invite Tyrian Characters to join them in the celebrations. |
