Endangered Species (Ranger-specific quest)

OK first, I am N/R. I just finished capping all the Ranger elites, and decided to do the Ranger-specific quests just to pick up some extra skills.

But one quest, Endangered Species, requires me to charm a Stalker and bring that to Master Ranger Nente.

But I already have an Elder Spider.

Is there anyway I can complete the quest without losing my spider?

What if I bring someone else who needs it also, and they bring the Stalker?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think as long as "someone" brings the stalker back to Nente the quest should in theory update, as he only asks for the one, and I'm pretty sure it updated automatically when my Ranger got the quest as I'd already charmed one in Pre-Searing.

I play a ranger and yes, as long as the someone with you has a pet stalker it will be just fine.

OK, next question.

Does anyone have a pet Stalker? and can I borrow you for 5 min?

No one in my entire alliance has a Stalker.

It didn't work! I partied with someone who had a Stalker, and we talked to Nente. He wouldn't accept it.

Then I partied with someone who had a Stalker AND they had the Quest! He still wouldn't accept it!

WTF!

I don't want to lose my spider to do this stupid quest!!! They are a pain to re-charm! How lame!

it says on guildwiki that you have to lose your current pet so.... =(
