i was wondering if a Necro/Ranger combo was a good idea...ppl say that i should have monk as my second profession but i like the idea of have a pet AND being able 2 raise the undead...if this isnt a good choice wat about an Elementist?

Plz post opinions and sate y u think that would b best as a second profession.

Thank You,

Me and Mo have good energy and HP management skills as well as hex control. Thats why they are so popular, having a pet without points in BM is generally bad since they are a liability.

Any chance of letting us know what build your thinking of doing (Blood,Death,Curses etc)as just asking for advice on a 2nd prof without this doesnt really help and could end up with you making the wrong choice, though you can change 2nd profs later if you wish.

Also what current skills have you got, and are you Canthan or Tyrian Based and more importantly have access to both Cantha & Tyria?

Generally speaking though, Monk's a good choice if you're unsure and if you're Canthan, Ritualist can be useful too

N/R, use a pet as a mobile corpse. Or use your pet and become a pet master. Your soul reaping will kick in after each kill.

The deadly health degen build (hexes + conditions).

The Condition Build (conditions only)

The Debilitator (slowing hex + crippling shot)

There are many pure necro builds and N/R builds out there. The best are the ones you discover on your own.

Kenney Rogers said "wat about a N/Ele combo?" The N/ele combo is good at first. like almost all the way to magumma jungles it is useful. I did it by blood and fire combo my usual layout was like this
1. Life Siphon
2. Vampiric Touch
3. Vamp Gaze/barbed sig
4. Well of blood/blood ritual
5. Firestorm/fireball
6. Meteor/meteor shower/fireball
7. Flare
8. Rez Sig
But the N/R is good too i tried it for awhile, the minion pet combo is hard to work because the minion portion is all consuming. But a Curse necro would probably work best with a ranger. As alot of the Curses have good degens and reductions and a ranger can trap/barrage/slowdown or throw his pet to save himself. Or if he favored Blood he could use the long range skills, barbed sig, vamp gaze, life siphon and a few others and then take his wilderness skills to weaken or
