I am about to start my Tyrian ranger in Cantha, but am tired of my old builds (trapper, spike, interrupter, etc., etc.). I'm looking at doing mainly a beastmaster build, possibly with barrage for me. I've got most of the skills planed and all, but have a question about Call of Haste and Call of Protection. Do these function like stances in that I can only have one active at any given time? I.e., does the second override and replace the first if used too close together? Or do they work differently from stances, and I can actually have both taking effect on my pet at the same time?

Thanks for the help. Me and Fluffy (elder black widow) appreciate it.

Shouts Stack. You can use both.

The only reason Pet Attacks are different even thoguh an update made them fuction like shouts , is that they arent "true" shouts, they just function like shouts, If you use one, it tells your pet "hey, use this attack", and if you use another before it attacks, it cant do two attacks at once, and skills dont "wait in line" in this game - so it just overrides the first attack.

You may use both at the same time, and both will be in effect. I hear warriors exploit this loophole for the overpowered Otyugh's Cry + I Will Avenge You combo. Seriously, Anet, please nerf this overpowered, uber build..../sarcasm.
Actually, Otyugh's Cry may be better than Call of Protection in some areas, as Cry provides +20 armor to your pet, vs. 1-11(15) damage reduction from Call of Protection. Check out the great pet guides here in Guru in Community works.

My beastmaster runs with the elite "Heal as one" (capped outside fort aspenwood on the kurzick side), the only bow attack I take is focused shot which is as spammy as barrage and does not disable pet attacks.
