Tags for Guilds...

Well, after much thought i decided to put this post in here because it IS a suggestion, or complaint, but mainly a suggestion...

2 Guilds should not be allowed to have the same tags. very simple IMO.

I say this because yesterday in RA, I met someone with our(thier?) tag, same letters, same capitalized and uncapitalized letters, TOTALLY THE SAME. I feel like this is kinda like indentity theft and no, he was not in my guild...

... did you check to see if he was in your guild? nah j/k. Well that's odd, why have I not seen anyone mention this until now?

i dont know, im starting to think its an error from factions, i saw ANOTHER person with our tag in RA today as well, i didnt check their cape to see if it was the other guild member i met yesterday in RA, but i just think this is some sort of mistake...

*waits until Anet realizes and sees who wins the tag in the end*

With thousands of guilds it's hard not to duplicate them...

This is stupid. So what would they do now? Make all guilds get a new tag and not allow duplicates? I dont think CKOD is a very famous guild so why do you care anyway?

i can see where this is coming from..guild names are unique so why not the tags.

maybe its time they allowed 5-6 chars per tag..or let numbers or symbols be included

i dont know if my math is correct but its around this.

27 x 4 = Y
Y x 27= Z (for caps)

There are 52 characters that those using english can use (upper and lower case for all letters). Since there are 4 characters in a tag, that means each character can be one of the 52. So thats 52*52*52*52 = 7311616 combinations. Plus the combinations that don't use all 4 characters.

But do have one major problem with this suggestion: What are you going to do about the guilds that already share the same guild tags now ? For instance all ten Xen Of Onslaught guilds use the tag XoO.

TY, and this is also to be added with numbers, and other languages, like korean. So many combinations.

Yes well, i still dont like the fact that out of 7311616+ combos anet cant just say this tag is taken, please choose another.
