Graphical Problem Artifacts, Freezes

Lately I've been having this problem when ever I played the game Full Screen. I'm using a GeForce 6800GT w/ 4X AA, no overclocking. The problem occurs at random times, but when it happens, the screen turns white with artifacts and the computer essentially becomes frozen.

I'm currently using the 84.21 Forceware drivers, but I just checked and nVidia released new drivers yesterday. GW is the only game where I've seen the problem happened, as I tend to also play UT2K4, HL2, CoD2.

It may be a card overheating problem, but the other games play well and I've recently cleaned used compressed air to clean the card.

I'm just wondering if anyone had the same problem. It kind of sucks when I can't play full screen in AB battles.

Get the latest nvidia drivers and try again. If that doesnt help, try taking the side off your case and seeing if it helps. In the end your machine may just need a reinstall of windows.

I am having a similar problem. The game frequently locks up, but my system can run it with ease. I have never had this problem before, which makes me think it was a patch thing.

i had the same problem (with all games) when i installed the new toca race driver patch (dtm for europe), when i deleted it it was working fine again so maybe it is because you installed something or you put some new hardware in your pc

I installed the new Forceware drivers and played full screen, same thing happened. I'm going to have to test out some other games so see if this is just a GW issue or card overheating.

Wow. Ever since the last big update, I have also had major graphical artifacts.
Never had any problem before. I installed the latest drivers for my x800, but still
it is screwed up. Do you think if i un/reinstalled the game, it might fix itself?
The gameplay is unaffected and no crashes, it just looks like crap. Like a huge checker board. I have tried all the different settings i think, but it still comes back.

ps. no changes to my system at all before this started.

Same issue, but not as bad as described..

Im getting artifacts everywhere, white in white areas, black in darker areas.

I think its a heat problem of the card since my room is VERY hot (damn weather)

whats weird is that i have the psu fan (very good, big fan).. 2 case fans, and also a fan on the top of the gpu keeping it cool, but i still get atrifacts?

Very odd.... i just want a new gpu to be honest, 9800 pros get way too hot

So I still can't play full screen for a long time.

Another problem just arrived this afternoon, where as Meols Green posted, I'm getting a lot of artifacts now. I think now my card is overheating as I noticed the temp shot up to 93 C. I don't have the AC on in my room all the time, just a big fan and have been playing pretty much with no real problems of artifacts until now. I wish I was able to have taken a better screen shot of parts of the landscape flickering white and etc.

Attached is what I can only capture, it does get worse. I don't know if my card is starting to fail on me, I rather that not be the case.

My screen is a huge checker board of blue squares. The card temp is fine.
It is still playable for the most part. The room temp here is around 70F.
Anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks
