I recently bought the Game of the Year edition of GuildWars Chapter 1.
I have a Chapter1+Chapter2 Merged Account already.
I have two options.
1) Use the Access Key to give Characters created on my current account the 7 unique weapons.
(On Wiki it says "Caution: Leaving one of these items in storage with a Xunlai Agent will cause it to be unavailable to characters created after that time. This can be fixed by removing the item from storage before making the new character. However removing the item from storage after making the new character will -NOT- make it available to that new character.") This REALLY scares me with this option though.
Does /preorder or another command replace the items?
This seems like a waste of a good Access Key, as ALL I will get is unique weapons (that aren't even that good IMHO, only a few have good skins)
2) Make a new Chapter 1 account.
This will give me, if nothing else, a "Mule" Account to test out PvE classes I don't have space for in my primary account, or stash all of the extra items (Like Holiday Items). It also is a use for the Access Key - I won't feel I "wasted" it. But also it kind of feels like I'm betraying my main account characters by Denying them the items The items will be quite wasted on Chapter1 only noobie Mule characters.
If Someone posted that there isnt a command to give the items to already made characters (like /preorder for the preorder items) then I'm definately going option two, since there'd be no point in giving my account access to the weapons if my 4 already made pve characters cant have them.
New Account or Merge? Serious Question

It comes down to why you bought this GoY edition of Prophecies.
If you bought it for the 7 unique items, then add the key to your current account. If you make a seperate account and then never play the characters there, the items end up being useless to you anyhow.

Thats why I'd like someone that has to to tell me if already made characters can get them. Thats a HUGE factor in whether my main account gets it -if my characters cant get them forget adding it to this account.

I'm concerned because GuildWiki notes that you can make it where a character cannot have one of the items ever again (read the supplied quote)...
If it were as simple as /preorder to get it back...I'm sure someone wouldn't have wrote a huge paragraph about it.
EDIT: Talked with someone ingame ,and he said he hasn't figured out how to get the items on already made characters yet.

Hey Former,
I went looking on gwonline to see if I could find any answers, and people there report that using /bonusitems in game will bring you your items on already present characters.
I can't verify this as I don't have the GoTY edition, but maybe the person you spoke with could try it for you?
Best of luck!

you are right as it is not a preorder so /preorder shouldnt work.
it makes no sense to sell a product with bonus items if they can simply vanish.
i think they are customized as well so saving them for another character would be useless
