How does the spam blocker for chat work? (the one that says "Your message was suppressed to prevent excessive messaging" or something like that) Once, I was trying to PM someone and hit enter instead of apostrophe. (Again ) Then the blocker suppressed 4 or 5 of my attempts to continue the message while the other person wondered what I was talking about. And yet I often see people spamming messages much more frequently than should be possible, and anyone who has seen American district 1 of Lion's Arch will know that the sheer speed of the messages is such that it's hard to keep up. How exactly does the blocker choose what to block?

When you first go into a district, its very loose in how often it catches it, but the more you talk the more restrictive it is. Also at first it only catches the same message repeated, but it gradually gets to where it suppresses anything.

This is atleast how It has worked with me.

Thats why people can spam 5-6 messages in a row, change 1 space in the messag,e spam it a few more times, then swith districts, do the same thing there, come back and repeat.

But whispers? Come on...

EDIT: Actually, I suppose you might want to block whispers. But I wasn't spamming it at all. And I've seen people spam the same message literally dozens of times before I block them.

GW allows you to spam shorter messages faster than long messages

Besides, people in Lion's Arch usually have many different messages stored in their "past message" thing so they just press downspace-enter, downspace-enter, downspace-enter, downspace-enter: 4 spammed *different* messages in 2 secs. For long messages, you have to wait until it fades off the screen to say it again.

The spam blocker is really annoying. I would rather have people spamming the way they used to than people spamming with 2315235 at the end of their messages, and VVTS.

I don't know what they changed, but I never used to see people spamming. Now I see people doing actions "A Moron says "No"" 20+ times, and I see people saying the same short "WT.S" message dozens and dozens of times. Definitely more than 5-6 by a long way. And I don't even know why these idiots do it, I put them straight on ignore because I can't see any chat when they do it. My ignore list has been growing very fast lately
