It just sucks when they removed Flame Slinger from the premade list. It's a good build! Why better than paladin!
R/x: I like to call it the Faster Flame Slinger
Wilderness Survival: 14 = 11 + 2 + 1
Markmenship: 9 = 8 + 1
Expertise: 13 = 11 + 2
- Kindle Arrow: For the obvious reason for damage enhancement
- Favorable Wind: Increase arrow speed to improve accuracy; The +6 damage ignores armor.
- Troll Unguent: Obviously to heal yourself (can't always depend on the monk you know)
- Dual Shot: Starts your spike
- Quick Shot : Follows Dual Shot, so all 3 arrows will land on the target at the same time.
- Needling Shot: Cycle between Quickshot and Needling Shot until Dual Shot is available again. And use needling shot only whenever the <50% condition is met.
- Optional (Recommend Antidote Signet or any other condition remover)
- Optional (Rez Signet or another skill of your choice)
Weapon Choice:
Zealous Horned Bow of Defense
- Additional armor always help, Zealous helps energy management as Needling Shot and Quick Shot only cost 2 energy to cast with 13 expertise.
- Many people don't like to use Horned Bow because of it's slow attack speed. But this build uses Quick Shot and Needling Shot that ignores weapon's attack speed, that 10% armor penetration always help. However, you can choose any bow you like, it doesn't matter that much.

A Flameslinger have to use Conjure Flame. The only 'flame' skill you use is Kindle Arrows, and that means ALOT of rangers should call themself a Flame Slinger.

One question I have is why you would cycle between Quick Shot and Needling Shot. When your foe has less than 50% health, both skills recharge instantly. I would think that if you have Quick Shot, Needling Shot would not be necessary. Also I would think that a Shortbow would give you the most damage per second with it's increased firing speed. If you were to incorporate Tiger's Fury or something similar, the added speed boost would likely act as it does with barrage and make a greater difference to a slow refire bow such as the Hornbow and therefore then making it a wise choice, but without this type of skill used, I don't believe that your damage potential is maximized.

Sadly boosting Marksmanship and dropping Wilderness Survival (at least i think) gives more damage. The increased damage % and the improved chance of critical hit outweighs the 3ish extra damage that Kindle would do each arrow. Would seem more like a 'machine gunner' with Kindle.
I would've thought a Flame Slinger would've been Conjure Elemenent with Barrage tbh.
