Differences between Factions and Prophecies

I've myself one question, is there any real difference between Factions and Prophecies? I'm planning on buying the game, but I can only buy one as of now. I hear that doing so will limit the amount of PvE and skills possible, thus limiting the game experience. Can anyone confirm this? Also, should I buy the Prophecies first?

Prophecies:

• Large map
• Lot mission
• 6 professions
• Pre-searing to test your skills and learn
• Long to level, taking your time
• Learn skills as long as you progress in Tyria

Factions:

• Rush
• Smaller map
• Fast level up
• Get gold after quests and mission
• Alliance Battle
• 8 professions
• Learn more skills at the begining than Prophecies
• Buy skills

For what I suggest is to buy Prophecies for the core content and learn at your rythme. If you buy Prophecies or Faction, you can't have the skills on the one you haven't bought.

get Prophecies to get your feet wet at a reasonable pace.

Factions is mostly high end content so you get rushed to high level than can run into a brick wall going what hit me.

also it has some nice skills that i go back to get becouse i like them and they are not available in Factions.

not overpowered but i simply feel more comfortable with them

Difference between prophecies and factions: everything.

Unless I'm horribly mistaken, there are 6 professions in Prophecies and 8 in Factions.

Damn Ele which they worship all gods. I forget them lol.. joke. 5 Gods, 6 profession in Prophecies.... Ele worship all.
