Golden Phoenix strike-Daggers
Repeating strike-Daggers
Death Blossom-Daggers
Golden Lotus Strike-Daggers
Heart of shadows-shadows
Sharpen Daggers-critical
Shadows Refuge-shadows
Shadow form-{E}Shadows

Summary
This is a basic assassin build, but its not built around conditions, its built around extra damage dealing while also staying alive. I find that many times i have died trying to run away from a battle with dark escape or shadow of distress, because they are still attacking, i mean it might just be me but i find shadow form a lot more useful in a get away yes it takes u down to within an inch of your life but it will get u far enough from the battle that they can't reach you, to attack so your free to heal your self and regain energy. I don't think i have to explain how to use the attacks but i guess i will, cast sharpen daggers and then get in there with golden phoenix strike and then repeating strike (repeatedly)and when u miss finish with death blossom and then if your life permits it cast golden lotus strike and start all over and repeat golden lotus when in need of energy. When a afflicted or some other enemy is too close and san cast an aoe use heart of shadow to get away before the blast( mostly for the afflicted blast after death u can get away before they go off), and before You die cast shadow form to get as far away from the fight with out being hit or worse killed on your way out. ok on to the next build.

Daggers-12+3+(the dagger handle)
Critical-8+1+1
Protection-10+1

skills
Jagged strike-daggers
Fox Fangs-daggers
Death Blossom-daggers
Dash/Aegis-unlinked/protection
Protective Spirit-protection
Reversal of Fortune-protection
Shield of Regeneration-protection
Rebirth-protection

Summary
With this build u are more of self protector till its time to get out. In battle you must cast protective spirit and reversal of futune to keep u alive and to get out along with dash. Use jagged strike to inflict bleeding foxfangs for damage and death blossom to spam some damage, then restart the cycle with reversal and protective and when u r losing to much health get out and help the tanks with protective and reversal and use shield of regeneration to heal yourself and others while adding +40 armor. With assassins damage reduction can be very useful and while u r back in the back ground recharging u can also help by using secondary skills. ok next build

Palm strike/ Golden Phoenix Strike-critical/daggers
Horns of the ox-daggers
Falling spider-daggers
Scavenger strike-beast
Predatory bond/ Heal as one-beast
Charm animal-beast
Call of haste/energizing wind-beast mastery

Summary
This build is for none stop damage to a single foe. You go in and lay on the poison and high damage with palm strike or golden phoenix, then horns of the ox, and finish with falling spider, and while u run to safety cast predatory bond for self healing and call of haste for increased self healing and damge and then spam scavenger strike on the enemy for major damge while under a condition when the condition is outlasted get back in there and start over. and if u opt. for heal as one instead of predatory use energizing wind instead of call of haste to conserve energy, some spell casters may get mad about the increased recharge time but if they don't have enough spells to cast while waiting for those spells to recharge then there not a very good spell caster are they? ok next build

Daggers-12+3(+1 dagger handle)

Wilderness-10+1

Skills

Palm strike-critical
Repeating strike-daggers
Death Blossom-daggers
Storm chaser-wilderness
Troll unguent- wilderness
Rez siggy/or Nine tail strike(if there is no need for the siggy)-unlinked/daggers

Summary
This build is about major damage but u have to be smart about it. This build is about patience, wait till all the foes are engaged in battle with the tanks and rangers and then u slip in quickly with sharpen daggers and apply poison along with palm strike, repeating strike (repeatedly) and when u miss, use death blossom and then get out, with storm chaser, leaving the enemy with two condition and a tank on the way to finish the job if nessasary (but it shouldn't be nessasary) while u recharge and head for another target.
WELL THAT ALL FOR NOW I KNOW ITS A LOT TO THINK AND COMMINT ON BUT I HOE U CAN HELP ME CAUSE THE ONLY ONE THATS BEEN TESTED IS THE A/MO BUILD AND I LIKE IT ALOT IT KEEPS ME IN BATTLE ALOT LONGER AND HELP OTHERS. Well let me know what u think any critism and improvements to these.

I'd like to thanks me for these builds and the strategy guide for a list of all the skills on had at all times thx.

On your prot build why not try using the "Golden" strikes in order to get to your dual attack since you rely heavily on enchantments, maybe:

Golden Lotus Strike
Golden Phoenix Strike
Twisting Fangs / Death Blossom (lets you skip Jagged and still get bleed)
Dash / Aegis
Protective Spirit
Recall
Shield of Regeneration / Mark of Protection
Rebirth

Recall will allow you to get back to your teammates quickly and out of aggro just as fast in case you need it (usually you enchant a monk with it). Golden Lotus Strike should give you an energy boost that you are likely going to need with this character due to all of the high-cost protection spells (you have ~30e at most). Golden Phoenix Strike will be your main opener, with Lotus there mostly as a last-minute energy management (Lotus, cancel recall). I prefer Mark of Protection to Shield of Regeneration because it reduces your incoming damage *and* heals you whenever you take damage. You should still be playing hit-and-run with this build though.

I can only see 2 glaring issues with the first build, Repeating Strike and Shadow Form. Shadow Form is just too unreliable and should really only be used as an "oh shit!" button...and it really doesn't even do that well. Repeating Strike I have tried and just find that it doesn't do nearly enough damage to anything. I would switch to a Phoenix->Ox->Spider->Ox->Spider combo. It repeats itself after the first Falling Spider... Not the utterly perfect dps combo but it does decent damage and applies poison to your target (5 degen, an extra 10dps). Heart of Shadow you want to make sure that you are using as a prep skill, it's like a 30 second reversal of fortune that you use in order to mitigate part of a possible alpha.

I like the a/r Palm Strike/Pet Build.

For your last a/r build, I don't think Death Blossom *strikes* all foes adjacent to your target, it just deals damage. If it struck them, (I'm still not 100% sure if it does or doesn't) the combo would utterly own. AoE damage, 8 degen... You can't have a +1 to your Wilderness Survival, you are likely better lowering it to 8 and putting points in Shadow Arts with a +1 minor rune and bringing Shadow Refuge. It's a short duration Troll Unguent with a faster cast time and a little touch of healing if you're in combat.

Good Luck and Happy Assassinating.

death blossom strikes all foes adjacent to your target AND you as I have noticed. Hmm that A/Mo build worries me, don't use it too much k? I am really fighting to get us sins away from the tanking issue, that whole thing is the reason for so much sin hate right now.

i'm not going to comment on the combo's laid out on these builds; as any combo works equealy well depending on what you prefer.

build 1:quit trying to tank with assassins!

shadow form may stop you from getting hurt from most dmg, but doesn't take it all away - and still leaves you running out of the fight. - recall, return, or a shadow of haste b4 running in will save your butt faster, and better. - AoD would be the elite of choice here though.

build 2: quit trying to tank with assassins! your survival again is dependant on being able to run out of range of any agro'd foe -- protect spells might be fine and dandy 1 on 1, aginst foes without strip enchant spells, but you get aginst even a half smart group and your fubar as 2-3 decide you look like a juice target, and at least 1 is asured to break your enchants.

build 3: this is probly the worst one. not only are you running in and running away at normal speeds, but your depending on your pet to cover you in retreat.. when your target ends up chaseing you, your pets ends up chaseing him, thussly negateing any attacks you want it too do. furthermore, when you pet gets dropped, all of your skills go dead, and you have nothing left but your combo to get you through till you res it - but wait, no comfort animal, so no resing your pet; I.E. leaveing you with only your combo for the rest of your trip.

build 4: again relying soleing on runing around to avoid dmg. furthermore, storm chaser only helps you with energy if you get hit with el dmg; dark escape is the same run speed, and halves all dmg as long as you don't attack (which you shouldn't be doing while trying to run away.

with the exception of the last build, you didn't even bother adding res sig. since your already sitting in fights longer then you should, and trying heal dmg you have no busniess takeing - you're already a liability to the group, no res sig just doubles that.

in short: if your not going to use teleports, then at least use dodge stances. the assassin is designed to avoid dmg, not to suck it up. i garentee you that in a group either my A/N or E/A sin build will drop as many foes, just as fast as any of these builds, and end up resing you in every single good sized fight. - quit trying to tank with assassins.

In order to make a 55 assassin, you wouldn't be able to use daggers. Not sure if that was part of your plan, just saying.

yeah, i didnt exactly think it through...but wait!! you could probably try the 605hp Assassin like those new 605hp monks someone started spreading in on of the other forums...that one might be a bit more energy heavy though

wow thats alot of information to take in, and just to let u know i don't use any of these builds but my goal is to make a tanking assassin cause i have a problem with getting groups when playin my assassin ,and the reason is most say that the assassin can only half kill one at a time and only takes so much dmg before leaving, and i don't believe that just being good at assassin (which i am with my build but its not finished, IM NOT A NOOB, i've been playin for years beginning with the first gw) will save a spot in any group cause people don't think assassins can hold there own so when i make tat perfect build i will be rollin in the glory. P.S i meant to put comfort animal in the third build, sry

hey psycho the "years" statement would make you look like a noob GW has only ben out for a year and like a half anyway just wanted to let ya know so ya don't make a fool of yerself, and the whole trying to make a sin tank will only make people hate sins more and prolly you too :\ so umm just work on your hit-and-run combo. Sins aren't supposed to "hold their own" they are supposed to not get hit, IMO monks should love a good sin, never have to heal em. Better than any good tank...

well, i'll wish you good luck - but i'm afraid a tanking assassin build is about as real as the philosophers stone, but even divinchi spent a life time trying to make that. every build i've seen trying to do it trades dmg for healing, spending longer to kill and thussly longer in being dmged.

i've never had complaints bout either of my assassin builds, i attribute it to not dyeing and killing more then anyone else.

Call of haste/energizing wind-beast mastery First off, why don't you have Twisting Fangs when you got 10 in Crit hits? The Deep wound acts as a mock spike, dropping your opponent's HP in a instant. Using Twisting Fangs after Falling Spider also allows for more degen and guarentee's a kill.

I would recommend Palm Strike over GPS. One reason is due to your High Crit Level, Palm Strike is going to be more potent than GPS albeit slower recharge. Second reason is that Palm Strike is a Guarenteed Hit (even under blind), while GPS requires an enchantment for the hit to connect.

If you plan to use Ranger though as secondary, you should ditch the Beastmaster gimmick and put those points into Wilderness Survival. App Poison, Troll Unguent, Storm runner, there are alot of good techs that would be much more useful. Plus you get access to some good Nature Rituals like Winnowing and Winter. If you MUST keep the Beast Master theme though, I would implore you to pick Tiger Stance to boost the speed of all your attacking.

Sorry bout the rant, but I specialize in both Sins and Rangers so I had to input my success into this.
