echo... meteor shower or fireball

Depends on the situation really. Personally I rather Echo Rodgorts Invocation then just spam flare/immolate and fireball as much and often as I can. Echoing MS is nice for an enemy that is body blocked or a group of them that you want to take out quickly while getting in some interupts. Just learn how to Echo MS properly though. Otherwise you just scatter them instead of killing them.
Though bear in mind that this only works in PvE.

Speaking strictly PVE:
Echo Fireball provides more longterm DPS then Echo MS at a cost of higher energy. Dual Attunes makes this concern frivolous. Echo MS is more of a utility, giving your team time to do their job while the enemy casters are molested by the falling rocks... also, echo MS gives you less total time waving your hands in the air.

I've generally found that in PvE, Meteor Shower is the best choice for echoing. It's great for crowd control, and unlike all those other AoE spells, does not cause running. I've also found echoed meteor showers to be the ultimate for tough bosses, especially monk bosses or very high level ones, such as the Kraken in the Boreas Seabed mission.
I have not found interruption to be too much of a concern for me in PvE because if you stay in back behind the aggroer(s), then you are less likely to be interupted, just as you are less likely to be the one attacked.
However, since the average echo nuker carries both meteor shower and fireball in his/her build, there's nothing wrong with echoing fireball when you don't think meteor shower will be needed.

Just a quick note on AoE with Pyros.
If you cast 2 MS in succession you have to make sure that they don't overlap. If they go off and hit things within a second of each other, your prey scatters.
I have also noticed that using MS together with Fireball and Rodgorts Invocation can also cause scatter

lol, not the easy triple nuking if you can go quadruple nuking it
Its fun to throw series of 4 showers after another with some good build that manages interruptions and energy in Urgoz Warren (believe triple nuking is nothing compared with his daddy the 4 one, and I actually can do quite a few of those series after one another with only 2 e-manangement skills)
Try it and you be surprised (btw if do 3 or 4 shower you only need arcane echo an renewal, NO other dupl skill
)

) PvE your just about guaranteed to find 100s of enemies grouping up.
