The Deep and mesmers: why are people so dumb?

I have done a nice build for a mesmer/elementalist in the deep, with 16 fast casting, 12 fire spells and 6 inspiration. With 2 attunements, meteor shower, insp ench and other burning spells I have no energy problem, I can cast very fast without stop, I deal lots of damage and burn everywere. But I cant find a decent group who accept me: everybody want a E/Me just because they have read somewere that only E/Me is required! Why people act like sheeps, and do only what they read on a damn site or forum???

Is that only Deep problem?

In fact even as a true mesmer (not a fast-cast ele) you can be very useful. You can interrupt a lot of dirty things and some debuff are always welcome. Mesmer is a good source of unresisted damage and can be a fast rezzer.

Sorry to tell you the truth by this words:

It is a fact that 85% of people act like sheeps, get used to it.
I sugest you to ask your FL or your Guildies.

To be honest I play Mesmer, Nekro, Ranger & Warrior.
With all those classes I have problems to get a decent group. The most time I play with Henchmen and when i have to go on Mission, I ask the FL or the Guild. I don't even try anymore to find a good Party out there, because there are just to little of them.

Take it as it is, just a fact.

My humble opinion:

Group: LF 1 more to complete party hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Fantastic!

I agree i play with my Mesmer/X alot, and Mesmers are just as rare as monks if not more. and they are so under-rated as a Primary Class because people just DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THEM!

it is infact the most ignorant of GW Players that Yakumo is talking about... but it is happening ALOT more in PUGS as of late.

I was a lone player for around 10months and i got so fed up with PUGS its un true, really if u want to play a support class and play it well then you should try and find a guild who help you and encourage you to learn more about the game as a whole.

And to answer the question this Thread asked first of all...

People ARE dumb, If modern society has not taught you that then your going to have a lot of disappointment ahead of you. People just play UG UG with no real wish to improve themselves which is unfortunate.

Sooner or later you will find your perfect group for the deep and you will live happily ever after dancing til the sun goes down.

if you are selling yourself well in your 'LFG Blah Blah Blah' then you should find a decent group eventually anyway.

As a person who has a mesmer himself, I understand it can be hard to get into a group. The reason a team will likely not want a mesmer into a Deep group is because the strategy used down there has been broken down into using the chosen classes in a specific manner. The first time I went to the Deep, I tried to find a group with my ranger, but after realizing I was the only ranger in the place and that Eles, Monks, Tanks, and sometimes Rits were the only people there in groups, I realized that it would be best to use another prof, so I grabbed my monk.

Hmm, I personally can't play Mesmers, they require fast reflexes, and mine aren't good enough. But whenever I see a Mesmer LFG, I take him/her. Mesmers are the most usefull classes in GW, besides monks.

I play mesmer a lot, and know what you're talking about. Usually I'm excluded from groups. I only play The Deep on my warrior and monk, and I'm usually leading the group. I grab players who can play the builds required, and I've never failed the deep.

IMHO, I can't really see a use for a mesmer for the deep, hence I don't bring my mesmer too the deep. I get the following classes when I do it:

3 KD tanks.
4 monks.
1 SS with heavy enchantment removal.
1 BiP'er for the monks (usually have him bring some enchantment removal also)
3 E/Me echo nukers, too bring glyph of renewal (or echo if they please) + arcane echo. Usually they fire off a Rodgorts next, and their energy is in the low. I couldn't see myself being able too manage that energy as a mesmer, which is why I take the elementalist primary because of the large amounts of energy they get from energy storage.

If you have a Mesmer build you want too bring to the deep, you should start your own group to avoid being excluded from some groups.

My oldest son loves playing his Messmer and he is damm good at it, I love having him in groups when we can play together.

He has complained to me about Messmer hate before, and I just tell him if the group you are trying to get into doesn't appreciate a good Messmer, then the group isn't worth getting into

That'd be the only drawback to ferrying people to deep for free. You get idiots in the mix. A necessary evil I suppose to keep the elites free for all.... I'm sure assassins are still feeling the hate as well.

ok there is one problem can you think waht can happend if you ger a mesmer/necro instead of a necro/mesmer in.

you will hve problems cuz the ss deals less damge its the same thing for your mesme/ele.

sorry for that but can you imagin a monk that he actually thinks he can tank in the deep just cuz he is a warr sec profecion. dont think so the point is ists not the same

remeber that the primary class determines the main atributes of the character and their speciallity.

the other thing is that if a see a mesmer LFG id usually take him cuz mesmer can take a hard tank in just a few secs

This is what makes this place sooo stinking boooring. The gimmicky builds, same carbon copy crawl through, with a chance to get greens at the end just like tombs. Sorry but I beat the uw/fow/tombs crawls to death... maybe that is why I am jaded on these missions.

I love Guild Wars as a whole but once I got the bow I was looking for, doubt I will be back much in either 'elite' mission. I can do without selling the drops for hours in Center.

i know exacty what is your build, does decent damage , you past 100% lf times cast spell etc etc.

but is this better then a e/me?

The mission take 1.5 , 2 hours to complete.

Unless your are a friend of mine ,i rather take a e/me instead of me/e. why?

i know one work , the other one is a not for sure.

you wont belevie how many ppl i see forgot their attunement and similar when they try me/e.

and giving dump to unknow guys is not nice... since you dont know if they are or not.

I do agree that fast cast eles are better in PvP but in PvE, Elementalist are still better.
There isn't much need to cast a spell fast in PvE at the expense of lower damage. Take an elementalist for example, with glyph of renewal and arcane echo, they can cast 4 x Meteor showers at one go, incurring a high exhaustion but because of their high energy, they are able to keep up with it.
As for a fast cast ele, after 4 x Meteor showers, the mesmer's mana is exhausted pretty much. They are useful, but maybe people prefer Eles more as nevertheless, they are still better in PvE.

In fact a mesmer should not be a fast cast ele, he should simply be a mesmer.

I'm quite happy for this pve mesmer hate, 'cause more often than not I'm gonna find some mesmers who has not been accepted by any group in Thunderhead Keep (example) and I can have this free mesmer to greatly help with the mission - and I must say it's not certain, but it's really hard to find a noob playing a mesmer so late in the game, it's easyer that the noob will play wammo or ele.

When it's me playing mesmer it's rarely a problem anyway 'cause my friends and guildies are always willing to play with me.
