seems to me that these weapons are bascially ruined by the high requirement. end game rewards such as this should not be made borderline useless by such a high req. or am i missing something here ?

IMO they should have been 15% always no detriment but 15req.
Hey they're Shiro's stuff right?

Instead it's just the model/skin, and I don't even get the sword (meh).
However Shiro's daggers I <3

15% no penalty would be unbalanced (slightly) in PvP as anywarrior worth his salt has Req 15 (Dunno bout assassins but I assume its the same).

The numbers dont have to be equal to be balanced. IMO

Well, considering Shiro was a master assassin and the Emperor's personal bodyguard, it'd make some sense for his Dagger Mastery to be so high.

Check out the description of the Dagger Mastery attribute: "The damage and effectiveness of Dagger strikes, dagger-based skills, and the chance to inflict a critical hit increases with rank in Dagger Mastery." Guildwiki notes that there is a 2% chance per rank in Dagger Mastery that attacks from your daggers will double strike.

So really, if you're looking to deal damage with Shiro's weapons, it's to your benefit to raise your Dagger Mastery attributes.

Would have been nice to be req12, so that non-primary W or A's can use the weapons.

if the req is to be that high, for a green reward.. sure seems to me there should be some benefit to doing that ... but i guess thats just me

It's a.nerfs way of poking fun at the people that actually think lower req= higher critical rates.

Who cares. Don't use daggers if you don't have 15-16 daggermastery...

Because Shiro is a 1337 Haxor level 30 with 15 Dagger mastery and 15 Strength.

Shiro is a warrior, not an assassin.
He can't get 15 in dagger mastery...

SPOILERS

Check the cutscenes. Kisu calls Shiro a warrior. A warrior who should stop protecting the traders from bandit raids and should become his personal bodyguard.

Those are warrior jobs.

Shiro also says that vizu or whatever he name is, has no honour because she stabbed him in the back. He states that assassins are honourless.. with him having honour.

So Shiro is really a W/A and those can't get more than 12 in daggers....

I wouldn't call it stabbing in the back. If you listen carefully, you hear a lot of screams and fighting as the screen fades to black.
The emperor has all those female soldiers with him too O.o

The Emperor was kneeling and Shiro made a slash, instead of a stab... probably lobbed that sucker's head right off... still, no more honour in that though

It's good to be the emperor ;p

edit: to make my post a litlle more ontopic

The req of those weapons are so high because Shiro was a true master of his art, so his blades need to/can only be wielded by those who are masters themselves, not every other random ele or necro out there...

On a related tangent: the requirement vs attribute level on weapons I find rather confusing. If you know how it works, there's little to it; but makes little sense. Why aren't req's capped at 12 anyway? For any build running it's weapon attribute at 16, weapon requirements are irrelevant...
And those that wield weapons but don't spec for them, they don't care anyway (think foci-swapping, IW, etc.)

Shiro isn't that bright, so I can see him using weapons he doesn't have the req for. Remember that we couldn't do anything directly to Shiro until Imperial Sanctum when he made himself mortal again.

Also, I don't remember being hit with the life steal from them so I doubt he was using them in the battle itself. I think the Adept of Shadows may be scamming us and that Shiro never actually used those weapons. Possibly because they weapons are cursed beyond just being req 15, and he wants to get rid of them.
