GVG needs to start giving FAME

ANET, I understand you guys thought you addressed the whole emotes thing with adding of titles and such.
Sorry but for GVGers, you didn't help 99% of the population.
Now, I know you added the Champion Title that is the two teams involved must have both 1500+ rating. Keep in mind you need FIFTY WINS OF HIGH RATED BATTLES. This is an absurd title. I myself have never seen this title but some peeps probably have it. Now lets take a look at the GW ladder that is frozen atm.

Only 18 guilds in the ENTIRE game have 1500 rating. And you are supposed to win 50 matches where BOTH teams have 1500 rating. I'm sorry but the only people who will ever see the title are WM, Evil, TE, Reno, KGYU, IQ, EW and all these other people in the top 10. Top 20 rotates around so much its a crapshoot.

Now, HA gives fame. This is the only thing you can really use to see PVP skill without ANY playing. Gladiator title just shows you TA too much. I'm sorry to say but HA is a joke now. It used to be competitive but now a pug can hold. Ever since Obs Mode HA died. HA is more about build and farming the hell out of it. GvG is more about tactics and individual player skill. There is also more coordination in GVG.

If this is true, GUILD Wars (GUILD) should allow the Guild VERSUS Guild Matches, to give some sort of fame. Sure, you can check your ranking on the ladder and all and the capes, but where are the emotes? 99% of people will never get silver capes. Why does HA get all the glory while GVGers get no emotes. I myself am rank 7 but would love to see a GvG emote.

This is why I propose a new system of emotes.
The GvG emote.
Same as HA but differnt emotes.
180 = r3 1000 = r6 and 4465 = r9

Now, here is where the system is implemented. Any GVG with a team involved that is over rank 1000 means you get no fame. This could also stop smurfers.
In order to get GVG fame, both teams must be ranked below 1000.
For every one win against a team with a ranking below 1000+, you receive one fame.
Consecutive wins = one fame more per and the addition of fame if higher ranked team is beaten.
For every win against a team with a ranking below 500, you receive two fame.
For every win against a team with a ranking below 100, you receive three fame.
For every win against a team with a ranking below 50, you receive four fame.

Please Anet, not everyone has 1500+ rating.
However, there is 50k more people who are in guilds ranked 1k or below.
The game is Guild Wars afterall. Give us GvGers some incentive because not every team is going to get top 16 and play in GWFC.

Post if you feel this system that adds fame for every GVG win should be implemented.

I think guild ranking is fine and no fame of any sort should be allowed, because if your guild is really that good, goto the HA and get fame. If you get owned by IWAY in HA, imagine what IWAY can do in GvG. HA is still very tough, because theres always a build that can beat another build, and only if your group is very skilled, you can hold the HoH.

Agreed. Who cares about titles and emotes? Most people know each others or recognise guild tags, and that's usually enough.

I think its a nifty Idea dont listen to them. I wouldnt call it fame though, something else, like guild reputation or something.

Well I agree and disagree, there should be a seperate title for high rated guild battles (as said 1500+) but there should be one that is for any rating GvG, my guild and I were discussing this that like, you have no idea if someone is good in GvG or not, and don't tell me that's what the Rank titles are for, because they're there for HoH, GvG has different mechanics.

I completely agree with the OP. Why should HA'ers get the emotes when this game is called "Guild" Wars? I used to enjoy HA alot but it has been increasingly becoming a feeling of grind, trying to get all ur fame points jst to get the new emote. I much prefer GvG anyway .

The entire system sucks enough as it is, i suggest anet removes fame from the game completely.

If you need to find out if people are ok, guest them during freeze or against a friendly guild in unrated.

Stop comparing GvG with HA.

I'd like to see fame move out of HoH but not into GvG. I'm spending all my time farming Faction now adays; no time for emote hunts.

THe problem with the entire rank system is that it doesnt show individual skill, it shows they play alot and get into good teams. IMO rank should be completely removed.

Although I can see your logic behind wanting 'guild fame' it would create a whole new problem with higher experienced players who just want to farm the crap out of GvG so they can look good.

the Guild name and Guild tags are enough recognition of who you are. No need for displayable ranks. If you're a popular guild, you WILL get praise. Its not like Anet is going to write up a 'HoH team of the week' article or anything.

HA is somewhat corrupt with 'fame-farmers' seeking the shiny emotes. GvG is pure and people play for the sportsmanship and the joy of winning. You can't compare HA and GvG because GvG is way out of HA's league.

The shiny cape trims are sought after and people are selling/buying places in these guilds with shiny trimms which is unfortunate. GvG is rewarding in its own right.

remove rank...unfair on the 1s that gained it fairly, but yea rank doesnt mean shit these days..ppl spamming their emote to get into pve groups make me laugh

Don't create a link between rank and gvg skill. If they must get a grindable reward make it seperate.
