So I was thinking today. A lot of people want 2-handed swords/axes and 1-handed hammers.
I think it's obvious that there isn't anyway to balance 2-handed swords/axes or 1-handed hammers to work in the current axe/sword/hammer skill lines (Imagine building Adrenaline with a 1-handed axe because it's faster, then weapon swapping to do massive Eviscerate damage with a 2-handed Axe).
I was also thinking about how there's only so many differant skills you can make out of a attribute line. In otherwords, A.Net might eventually run out of creativity with their new skills in the current attribute lines (just how many ways of setting people on fire/healing people for x health can you make before getting less creative?).
Why not add entirely new attribute lines in future chapters? Do we really need to create an entirely new proffesion to deal with 2-handed weapons, when it probably won't play too much differant from Warriors or Assassins? Not that I'm saying don't add new professions, just don't add unneccessary professions.
New attributes for existing proffessions can include:
2-Handed Axes/Sword Mastery for Warriors
Crossbow Mastery for Rangers
Throwing Dagger/Shuriken Mastery for Assassins
Heart Magic for Elementalists (Ok, mabey not... but it'd be really cool to summon Captain Planet)
(I can't think of any new real attributes for casters, but I'm sure if A.Net did decide to add new attributes, they'd be creative enough to think up good ones)

Can you imagine a 2-handed axe evicerate? They'd do all the same thing (deep wound, bleed,KD) but with more damage.
linuxnacrot
they'd be slower therefore it take longer to charge adrenaline

Thus my suggestion to give them their own skill pool. Like I said, a 2-handed Eviscerate (Adrenaline gained with a 1-handed axe) is a big no-no.

I like your idea of giving any new weapon class it's own skill pool, and assume they would implement that as well.

Perhaps if it happend, they could add a little nerf to stop people using 1 Handed Weapons then Two handed for the Adrenaline by making it, If you switch from a 1 Handed to 2 Handed Weapon you loose 50% of the Adrenaline.

There is always the option of making a new class for it.
But I guess it could be done, if they have enough new skills and attributes for each of core 6. Else I think new class will do the job.

There's enouph balances to that already. First, you can't switch a weapon while you are in the middle of an attack or while you are using a skill/spell, which makes it hard to switch weapons in combat. Second, unless you specialized in both attributes, you would either be doing no damage while you build the adrenaline, or you would do less damage with the skill than if you just kept the one-handed weapon up, and if you did specialize in both, you deserve to use that option.
Also, the only skill that would have a significant impact by switching to a two-handed weapon is Final Thrust, because it doubles the damage.
