Its probably so the forums load faster, they can lag a little as it is without having to scroll past random peoples abstract creations with sub zero pasted on.

Actually, signatures are pretty low.
Don't get ME wrong, but a forum loaded with annoying 3 screen wide bling bling signatures is a Forum i won't be in.

Signatures don't serve a single purpose other to bloat a post so it looks like more. There just is no information that needs to be repeated constantly with every other post.

And we don't always want to see people's potentially offensive signatures. There can also be a few thousand people online on this site at a time, and that consumes quite a bit of bandwidth. Now, if everyone were to have a GIANT full coloured signature, wouldn't that be a problem?

I love your avatar, FrogDevourer!!

Signatures were disabled a little over a year ago for a number of reasons, most significantly so that the forums themselves would be able to run more efficiently. Certainly, that's not to say that if there's a significant portion of the board interested in their enabling, we would not dismiss the idea of enabling them, but when given the choice between a faster load and signatures, most users would prefer the faster load.

Additionally, to sign up and create a post immediately requesting their enabling is fairly presumptuous, given the second post immediately following it.

We're always more than willing to listen to requests. However, to be denounced simply because we've got no signatures isn't the most fair or effective way to request anything. Guild Wars Guru has a fair bit more to it than just a board feature. It has content, and it has a community, two things we pride ourself very much on.

If this is considered the best site for whatever reason, maybe it's best to look at those reasons. Does having signatures disabled contribute, in any way, to this overall reason?

I'll leave that for our viewers to ponder
