i got a tyrian char in cantha (i got all cantha exapt the first mission).
can i get a mask with this char while he is in cantha or only canthian chars can get it?
an 1 more thing, u need orbs for the masks?

not in tyria, but everywhere in cantha.

as there is proof that they drop outside of maatu keep from one of the ogres

Kind of offtopic, but what was the drop rate for CC shards during the Winter's Day event? Maybe it will be the same for orbs?

According to the Guild Wars web site the festival will take place in the Shing Jea Monastery which is on the starter island. As far as I know Tryian characters can not go there. (unless this has changed?) It does say in and around Shing Jea Monastery so maybe some of the festival will be in The Marketplace or Kaineng Center. Hopefully that will be the case.

Tyrian characters can go to the Monastery. I think it's always been like that. They just can't access areas such as the starter area where you first meet your character.
I've seen Tyrian characters with 100% Map Titles, so it's possible. I'll show you if you want.

Actually Anet just recently "unlocked" the Shing Jea Island for Tyrian characters, but not much to do there except explore.

No, they recently unlocked the Islands *missions*, the island itself has always been accessible, thats how Tyrian characters were able to get Tengu masks during the head-start event back in April.

Your completed map is the same as mine, minus a few Cathan only areas.

So it is possible to get 100% with a Tryia Character.

You can do the missions on the island with your tyrian character you just dont get the mission rewards. You have always had access to th eisland but not the missions until the recent change. It is the same thing with Canthan characters going to Tyria. You can now do all of the missions you just don't get the reward for anything before Lion's Arch.

According to the update notes from yesterday, 2 new quests were added related to the festival, for Cantha characters only. I have not been able to locate these quests, nor have I been able to find someone else who has. Are these quests simply not in yet, despite the update notes, or am I just looking in the wrong places?

i got some questions

1. Do the orbs drop one and one or can they drop several in a bunch?

2. Do they drop for tyrian characters?

3. If tyrian characters can access shig jae monastery, does that mean that they too can get a mask? Or will the mask giver be a "racist" and turn down Tyrians?
