Ok i've heard tha there is one way you cold CHARM a bear in pre-searing. I heard tha if you take a Monk to put the bear down to sleep
then you use Charm you could have the Bear as a pet. But i have try it but the Bear would come righ-bakc-up an attack me an the Monk

The only way I have heard is a mesmer luring the bear, putting up Imagined Burden, while the ranger was charming, and getting out of range for the charm breaker to work...

You might wanna take a look here:

That's really the ultimate guide about pets.

Why would you want a bear? Their slower attack speed makes them inferior to all other pets.

There is no longer any way to charm the presearing bears. It used to be a combination of a warrior using frenzy + hammer bash and other things, but it does not work anymore. Sorry.

yeah ... it surprised me too but a few of my guild mates just did it.

You have to have help to interupt the bear while its being charmed.

Slower attack speed + higher damage = the same as any other pet.

the bears that you can charm are only what lvl 5 or something like that, so just get a cat until you reach lvl 6 then turn the cat in and go get yourself a bear, i've done it many times on my own the only thing you have to watch for is your aggro. try and find a bear alone with nothing else around it and charm it. its easy.

Easy, get someone to stand there and let the bear hit them, once the bear starts to use that beastial maul skill, you hit charm, and the person takes off running AWAY from you and the bear, the bear follows him, gets out of range, tried to use break charm, it's too far away, you get the bear, easy as pie.

Takes a bit of time though, sometimes it doesn't get out of range fast enough :/

Slower attack speed + same damage = worse than any other pet.

We all love the bears. Unfortunately Anet must not cause they nerfed brutal maul a long time ago and made the Bear the wimpiest pet. Hard to believe a chicken can do more damage than a bear, but it is true.

I am sure u may feel good pulling off charming an animal that many say cannot be done. However, end result is you would have a sub-par pet.

Ok... offtopic but still kind of on topic...

Does this mean you could do something similar to charm a moss spider? I've always wanted one of those...
