Dragon Mask only exchangable at the END of the EVENT??!!!

Could someone post where those quests are located?

If your REALLY smart, get all the needed masks and those coming from vacation will need orbs for the one week after. Sell them for ridiculous prices.

that's what i was thinking, since i've already gotten all my orbs for a few of my characters by day one, I'll just fool around until wedensday, save the rest of them, and then sell them. selling them now when they are easy to get is kinda pointless

The quests are in Shing Jea Monastary, can't miss them, you get them from this imperial guard dude in the middle of the courtyard.

Does anyone know if when you get the dragon helms if whether you get to choose the color, or dye them yourselves?

Oh, great... I'll be on vacation for two weeks starting this sunday. >_<

I imagine they will be generic brown color and dyable.

Cantha Prepares for Annual Dragon Festival
Across the lands of Cantha, citizens prepare for the annual Dragon Festival. Merchants fill their storerooms with rice wine and red bean cakes, while townsfolk assemble the games and activities that commemorate the historic events following the Jade Wind. Decorations have already been spotted in Shing Jea Monastery and Kaineng Center.

Conceived by Emperor Hanjai following his father's assassination at the hands of the betrayer Shiro Tagachi, the Dragon Festival is meant to memorialize the survival of the Empire of the Dragon following the Jade Wind. This year holds special significance in light of the new danger threatening our empire. More so than ever, it is important to show the residents of Cantha that their empire can and will survive even the most catastrophic of tragedies.

Residents are already booking passage to Shing Jea Monastery in preparation for the festival. Those allied with the Luxons or Kurzicks will be able to celebrate together without conflict—due, in part, to their united pride in their homeland's survival, as well as the strict "no combat " law the emperor's guards enforce within Canthan towns.

Residents of Tyria should prepare to travel to Cantha, as this is surely an event that will go down in history. There will be games, prizes, food, wine, and plenty of dancing to keep the celebration going for days. At the festival's finale, there is a surprise that no one will want to miss! And while the celebration will last for five days, the special event collector will remain behind for an additional week, allowing celebrants plenty of time to turn in their Jade Wind Orbs for a special Dragon Mask. Plan to be in Shing Jea Monastery for the Dragon Festival, which begins very soon!

Yeah, I kind of thought we would have the masks during the festival...seems odd.

I don’t think anyone has the 5th of July as a Holiday, but I could be wrong.
Canada Day = July 1
Independence Day = July 4

Anyway ANet did say that and NPC will be around after the event so there is ample opportunity to hand in your orbs

I don't know if anyone else has voiced this particular opinion, but I for one am very glad that it seems you only need 250 Jade Orbs. I was beginning to worry that it would be 1000 or something.

YA for real, ANET needs to think. 250 orbs for a mask, watch it be like 10 off from the droks or marketplace armor, lol.
Also 1 day to get everything really is stupid!

We have always received the masks/hats at the end of the events. I can see why people might want them to wear during the event, but there are other ways to celebrate besides wearing a mask. ANET can't please everyone, and when they try (making a collector that will take orbs for a mask for a week after the event), people still find reasons to complain. All the events have been on or near major holidays, so if you have a vacation planned, enjoy your vacation. You're not going to die because you weren't able to participate in the event or get a mask. 250 orbs is not a lot when you do the quests. You get like 240 of them! This is much the same set up as the preview event with the Tengu masks. I needed 250 naga fangs, which I obtained in half and hour. Stop whining and do it. I participated in the Wintersday events but wasn't there at the end to get a hat/antlers. Whoopididoo! I'll wait until next Wintersday. And... life goes on.
