uses of festival prizes?

well, tickets cost 15g per - you can trade 25 tix for a prize, so basically prizes are 375g "face" value.

so far the prizes ive gotten turned out to be:

5 jade wind orbs- (im assuming the only use is for masks- so if you do the quests and get 240 orbs per char that way, you only have to farm or "open" a total of 60 orbs for 6 chars)- this is what id want LEAST out of a prize.

rice wine- alcohol, yummy- now has anyone tested whether this works as ale/eggnog or a SPIKED variety? either way doesnt seem like too much of a deal at 375g per (maybe if its spiked ....)

red bean cakes- k, ill admit i have no clue that they do (too busy getting drunk and gambling!)- can anyone enlighten me/us?

if ive missed a prize or 2 its just luck- i spent several hundred tix on prizes already. also, i havent noticed any holiday collectors around- has anyone else? i missed out on the tengu thing but at wintersday, collectors were scattered around a few different cities. i did a bit of stocking up (speculating) on collecter drops on shing jea isle hoping i could trade em for goodies. if not, oh well- ya win some ya lose some.

My friend said he got 5k off one of the prizes i dont belive him though cause hes a word i cant say or ill get banned again ._.

Rice beans make you run 25% faster for 5 mins (works in towns!! <3)

The Rice Wine seems to be regular ale (takes more than 1 to get drunk), but I could be mistaken.

I've seen 1k from prizes... not sure about anything more than that

red bean cakes = faster for 5 minutes

The cake, more significantly, works in towns.

I ,myself, am disappointed there there is no Candy Cane variant.

Me too..i sold all my CCs cuz I figured there would be.

Although, I got 1k from a prize box, that made me happy.

Also, there might still be Candy Canes, or equivelent... for Wintersday, they added new collectors all the time, if I remember correctly... nothing keeps them from adding more goodies later

Do you think they'll sell well? I mean, CC's definitely did, but I'd say 25% speed boost is far inferior to remove all DP

i understand what everthing else does. Not clear what the Rice bean does.

It might be worth stocking up on bean cakes for the sole purpose of running. If you use one would you be able to keep a 25% speed boost + the boost of running skills? Might have to try this out as for certain runs I imagine this would be very handy.

very good point- i never considered the possiblity that the 25% may actually stack with other run skills (like sprint + charge = 33% faster boost). anyone out there wanna test this out? i seriously doubt it will, but at least we'll know which of the prizes to hold onto if it does.

I agree that would be cool, but sadly the bean cake sprint effect ONLY works in towns. so if you leave town, it won't work. so it can't stack with anything. really the only use i can see for them is either amusement, or ease of getting around huge towns like droks, or kaneing centre without wasting as much time...not a huge gain, but an amusing effect none the less. If i wasn't trying to save up for Urgorz Longbow i'd probably try and get some myself

If anyone wants to farm up and save a few I would love to buy em iono 400g each?

1k Gold Coins - Currently the Rarest, but best present prize. I've opened ~20 presents with only ONE being this prize.

5 Jade Wind Orbs - Bad prize unless you are filling up to 250 after the quests.

1 Red Bean Cake - Useful only for the event. Makes you run 25% faster for 5 minutes - Only usable in towns and outposts. It was made basically for the Dragon Nest game...

1 Bottle of Rice Wine - Not worth the cost of the present. It acts as a normal ale - not a Spiked variety. Several just to get drunk.

so to recap...
Tickets cost 15g each - you need 25 tickets for a prize, so basically prize = 375g.

From your prize you get one of the following:
Prize 1.
5 Jade Wind Orbs - Bad prize as you can get most or the Orbs you need doing the quests and then easily get the other Orbs in other ways:
(a) Playing the dragon arena will get you 4 if you win and is far more fun even if you loose
(b) swap 1 ticket for an 1 Orb by taking part in the worm chase, if lucky and you end up playing solo you get 11 Orbs
(c) you can get them as drops killing monsters while doing the quests (also sell any other drops and making cash on the side)

Prize 2.
1 Red Bean Cake - Bad prize as its kinda pointless prize as it only allows for speedup in towns/outposts (lasts 5 mins). About the only real use would be in the worm game to be faster than everyone else or gett around town faster.

Prize 3.
1 Bottle of Rice Wine - Bad prize as from what we know so far its no more powerfull than normal ale, and if you wanted ale you could simply buy ale for far less (almost half the price and you know you are getting ale that way).

Prize 4.
1k / 1000g - Well not really is it as you are spending 375g to get it so infact it is only worth 625g if you get it eveytime... basically if you get this you are not even coming close to double the money spent gambling on getting it, adn we know that the chance of getting it is very small.

So not looking to good so far I dont think there are any other prizes (i hope there is tho)

In short.
Would you pay 375g for:
1. 5 Jade Wind Orbs when you can get them in a number of far cheaper and quicker ways?
2. 1 Red Bean Cake that allows 5 mins speed up in towns?
3. 1 Bottle of Rice Wine that is no more use than Ale that only costs 200g
4. A very small chance of getting 625g as thats all the 1k prize is worth when you count the cost of tickets into it.

hmmm.. I dont think I will be doing anymore of those 'prizes'..

Meh, I just got them when I got the first level of the lucky title. It's like the inevitable mask we're getting soon. Fun stuff for now, but will grow old, pointless to keep on you, but will ultimately land up in your inventory taking space and growing dust. I still have a bunch of winter and halloween stuff that I don't really use, but can't seem to part with.
