Please answer the following:

Build?
Skills?
What you want to do?
How you want to do it?
What are you currently doing?
What do you want to change?

After you have answered the following, THEN you can choose which build to keep and which not to keep.

I wanna do some high damage and shoot from a long range

Most of my skills are some dammage skills like "Marauder Shot" or "Power Shot"+Apply Poision+StormChaser(like sprint) and some Monk skills....

In other word, what bow gonna do more dammage?(i think the 2 bows got same range,do they?)

imo the second "green" bow is ok for general usage, but i don like "in stance" mode, cuz rangre stances dont last long so you cant be continuously in stance, unless u are R/me with a long duration stance.

but if you are using poison.... go with 1st, cuz you dont spend 99% of your time in stance, and +defence is a good mode, and if you ever change your mind, you can "re-mode" it after, but you cant "re-mode" the green

But, if you're planning to fight against icy enemies or fiery (using Winter) definitely use the Green one.

Forgerunner if you want longrange... Plus the skin is better.

Personally, if I had to choose between the two, I would go with the first one.

I rarely use stances, so I would not get the benefit of the +15% damage from the Forgerunner.

If you're like me and don't use stances, then the only benefits from that bow would be the fire damage and +30 health.

The Shadow Bow is a Horn Bow type, and as such has a base 10% armor penetration.

Even if you don't take a poisoning skill, that bow would still provide +13% damage (if health is above 50%), 10% armor penetration and +5 armor.

And as Maria The Princess said, it can be re-modded. So depending what your build is, you can change the bow to suit it.

If you're after a bow that would do more damage, regardless of the attack skills you take, then go for the Shadow Bow and stick a Vampiric bowstring on it (or Sundering if you're not into vamp mods).

Most Rangers tend to carry more than one bow anyway.

I agree with Reika. Your answers do not help. He asked you what would you like to do, and you answered 'I wanna do some high damage and shoot from a long range'. It's like someone asks you 'What build are you on?', and you answer 'I'm using the strongest, most powerful and damaging build.'

Anyway the reason as to why you're unable to answer specifically is simply because you yourself don't know what you wanna do. Primary damage dealers all have the common goal of doing the highest damage. So why do you proclaim that redundant statement? Reading your build from your post, I can see you're using whatever skills you feel comfortable and just dumping everything together. You're not spike, not exactly spam, not runner, not touch, not trap, definately not fundi.

First off, go search the Ranger build thread and then tell me what build you would like to adopt. Next, add me in game. Yes, Dyon Adell. I am willing to help you obtain a few elite skills. I will not say I am a pro, but at least I can capture any elite in Snake Dance and Talus Chute. A few more missions and I'll reach Ring of Fire, so I'll probably have access to all the elites I need in 1-2 weeks time.

And by the way, imho, I think both bows suck. Sorry... I know it's green, but it kinda sucks for a green. I'm using a simple blue, 15>50 max longbow and I get my job done 90% of the time. Cost me 1k.

ARMOR PENETRATOR

r/mo
marksmanship: 16
smiting: 12
wilderness: 4

full druid's
sundering horn bow of fortitude

1. read the wind
2. judge's insight
3. penetrating attack
4. punishing shot
5. troll unguent
6. smite hex
7. purge conditions

with RTW and JI on, normal damage on squishies does 110 average.
penetrating shot can do an apocalyptic 180. damage on wars is decent at 50-90.

First then. Shadow bow is a 'Horn Bow'. But to be honest, if you want to deal the most damage... you need to get a flatbow.

The +15 in stance mod generally seems like a weak damage mod since ranger stances don't last long and are often used when fleeing, not when attacking. Unless you are spamming Tiger's Fury, go with the +15%^50 Shadow Bow. Also you can always mod the gold bow to your liking.

Forgerunner is considered longbow class, it has a range of 1.6 (1 being the radius of the aggro circle) and can fire every 2.4 seconds. The Shadowbow has a range of 1.4 and can fire every 2.7 seconds. Both of them will have the same flight time for a target at the same range (1.4 and below)
