New Titles have 5 Tiers Read If You Want To Save Money

Hello I am posting this because Pillz_veritas could not. He contacted me in game to tell all of you this. According to www.guildwars.nctaiwan.com/serviceCenter/faq.asp the new titles have 5 tiers. You can find this on questions 9 and 10 on the BOTTOM set of questions. The lucky title is 50,000/100,000/250,000/500,000/2,500,000. The unlucky title is 5,000/10,000/25,000/50,000/500,000. Pillz_veritas wanted me to tell you this. You can still go after your titles if you want, but I think it is a waste.

This can't be the case. It takes a while to get tier 1... almost, if not half a day.
Let's go with a 12 hour estimate for 50,000 tickets for the charmed title. It'd take SIX HUNDRED HOURS, or TWENTY-FIVE DAYS, to get 2,500,000 tickets.

Heck, even a very, VERY generous 6 hour estimate, which is far too few, would take 12 and a half days.

The event doesn't go that long.


Either they're planning for the next couple of years worth of events, there's a misinterpretation here, or someone wasn't thinking when they designed it.

Any chance we can get a translation for the names of the titles?

How would that make it a waste?

Proof that gambling will be with us in future events.

Perhaps that casinos will be introduced as gold sinks? HA!

I could see people hitting 100k tickets by the end of this event. Definately not 10k games lost.

Meanwhile, this is dissappointing. Still, I spent 20k already...might as well go all the way...

Well, that it says all of that incomprehensible (to likely most of us) chinese is true. Whether it's actually the case is what I think they want to know.

I overnighted my character AFK, but I didn't buy quite enough tickets, so I don't have the title yet. I couldn't say whether or not it's a tiered title, or it maxes off at 1, and I haven't seen anyone able to verify the page either.

What I can say is that if it's an impossible to obtain title... It wouldn't be ANet's first. *cough* Elite Skill Hunter *cough*


I've put too much money into this now to give up without at least the level 1 title, regardless. But if it's as bad as the page says... well, I'm going to be marginally unhappy >_>

I hope there will be an alternative way of earning the title when the event will be over then. Apparently it takes 15/20 hours to get the first title. That's 150/200 hours for the last one then. The event lasts 5 days so even if you run GW 24/7 and stand on those circles, that will only be 120 hours of "gameplay". And I hope no-one is razy enough to do that.

A player spending 8 hours a day playing those games (afk while sleeping...) will get the last title in... 2010 or 2011!

Those are my guess of the title name (there are no equivalent of english version on most of them, aside the near same meaning), and the rest are simple translation.

I want the Jinx title.That would be sweet.

Please dont tell us that you actually thought it only had one tier.

Vermillion's translation seem to indicate that the title only obtainable during the Dragon Festival.

If so...what the heck was ArenaNet thinking? It would make more sense if it applied to other events, but...

well, the title does say "at games of chance" maybe Anet is hinting future chance games in upcoming events^^

Hmm... if this is only obtainable during the dragon festival then perhaps the circle games arnt really random.

Maybe theres an pattern to it that can be figured out.

If they are random and only for this event then I doubt anyone will get the 2.5mil ticket title

Of course they are.

I'd also consider the possibility that there may be games of chance more permanently implemented as a gold sink.
