Hello I am posting this because Pillz_veritas could not. He contacted me in game to tell all of you this. According to www.guildwars.nctaiwan.com/serviceCenter/faq.asp the new titles have 5 tiers. You can find this on questions 9 and 10 on the BOTTOM set of questions. The lucky title is 50,000/100,000/250,000/500,000/2,500,000. The unlucky title is 5,000/10,000/25,000/50,000/500,000. Pillz_veritas wanted me to tell you this. You can still go after your titles if you want, but I think it is a waste.

This can't be the case. It takes a while to get tier 1... almost, if not half a day.
Let's go with a 12 hour estimate for 50,000 tickets for the charmed title. It'd take SIX HUNDRED HOURS, or TWENTY-FIVE DAYS, to get 2,500,000 tickets.

Heck, even a very, VERY generous 6 hour estimate, which is far too few, would take 12 and a half days.

The event doesn't go that long.

Either they're planning for the next couple of years worth of events, there's a misinterpretation here, or someone wasn't thinking when they designed it.

I could see people hitting 100k tickets by the end of this event. Definately not 10k games lost.

Meanwhile, this is dissappointing. Still, I spent 20k already...might as well go all the way...

Well, that it says all of that incomprehensible (to likely most of us) chinese is true. Whether it's actually the case is what I think they want to know.

I overnighted my character AFK, but I didn't buy quite enough tickets, so I don't have the title yet. I couldn't say whether or not it's a tiered title, or it maxes off at 1, and I haven't seen anyone able to verify the page either.

What I can say is that if it's an impossible to obtain title... It wouldn't be ANet's first. *cough* Elite Skill Hunter *cough*

I've put too much money into this now to give up without at least the level 1 title, regardless. But if it's as bad as the page says... well, I'm going to be marginally unhappy >_>

I hope there will be an alternative way of earning the title when the event will be over then. Apparently it takes 15/20 hours to get the first title. That's 150/200 hours for the last one then. The event lasts 5 days so even if you run GW 24/7 and stand on those circles, that will only be 120 hours of "gameplay". And I hope no-one is razy enough to do that.

A player spending 8 hours a day playing those games (afk while sleeping...) will get the last title in... 2010 or 2011!

Vermillion's translation seem to indicate that the title only obtainable during the Dragon Festival.

If so...what the heck was ArenaNet thinking? It would make more sense if it applied to other events, but...

Hmm... if this is only obtainable during the dragon festival then perhaps the circle games arnt really random.

Maybe theres an pattern to it that can be figured out.

If they are random and only for this event then I doubt anyone will get the 2.5mil ticket title

yeah it's not hard to figure out, I kinda batted this around in another thread...

They're putting out titles there that will go through their 'n' chapters.
Obviously they have plans for this ticket thing - my guess is their holiday exclusives but maybe there will be some kind of offering outside of that.

But yeah per elites, they already have some titles looking ahead.
So no you can't max all titles as it stands.

So be happy with a couple tiers early (if you want 'em) but if you want to go deep you'll have to go deeper with time/investment/even chapters.

edit - huh wierd to see so much disgruntlement.
use some of this negative energy to help get us proper solutions to storage or real ways to trade

Some people like the challenge of a surprise or the research of finding out the mechanics.

I find it much more enjoyable to have to read the boards and do some math to figure out which 'ring' is the best, instead of just having it plastered on the Guild Wars website.

if we knew it from start.. the place where games are would be empty now

so, ANet is taking some gold, then removing the possibility to max it ...
the game ll be dead before u get a chance at maxing this

your still getting the title you knew about, its not like anything is being taken away from you. They obviously wouldent leave the 50000/5000 as highest or "kind of a big deal" wouldent be very big of a deal anymore...

You can still play the game without these titles. I am sure no one will exclude you from a group because you don't have a Lucky or Unlucky title.

What is it about the Elite Skill Hunter title that makes it impossible? All skills are cappable, right? Am I missing something?

what's the point in implementing things u cant get ?

->take gold from ppl before the know it cant be done

why d we start a title if we are aware we wont get it maxed...
i dont care about having a Survivor (1) or Elite Skill hunter (1) on a char

about Elite title.. u ll never get it maxed out unless:

-Anet decides Chapter n° X ll be the last one where u ll get elites
-GW is dead

having it maxed out = having ALL elites = no new elites ever

the really tricky is that u cant do a thing about it ...

-u play by their rules and try to get the titles ? u are goldsinked ! Anet wins
-u dont start the title ? u loose .. u wont get that brand new title and u ll wait for a new easier one (u ll probably never see that happen, even if another ideas are implemented.. )

a monster killing title ? great it's free.. u ll need 1.000 for 1st tier .. probably something more 1.000.000.000.000.000-ish to get the final one

but u know and ll agree that even if the chest title d require 100.000 chests to get maxed, somewhere, a guy ll try to do it ^^

as for the skill hunter title, the reason it's 'impossible' is because they've added tiers to it to where there are more elites in the teir than attainable in the current expansions.

You can't max the skill hunter track at minute as level 4 requires you to cap 225 elites, but there are only 180 elites in the game at mo.

I don't think people should be too shocked, it's just a big gold sink, and you found out it can get bigger, you knew it was only gonna cost you money and not have any practical use come from it.
