Yeah I'm a newbie, and I'm going to get the game later today, which happens to be the Dragon Festival. My first event.
I've read a lot of guides, and a lot of threads on GW: F, and I kinda get everything, but for this new Dragon Festival, I have a few more questions.
How long does the Yeti quest take, and what level should I start doing the quests, because I'm only a level 1 when I start out.
If the GW: F community is as good as it seems, is it easy to find someone who would accompany me on my first trips to farm the quests?

I wouldn't try to tackle the Yeti quest anytime soon if I were you, at least not alone. I was fine at lvl 20 with a few henches at lvl 6, but I can't imagine how it would be at lvl 2.
That said, I did manage to do the first Festival orb quest with my lvl 5-6 Ranger, with lvl 6 henches, but luck may have had a hand in that.
As for accompanying, I would be happy to accompany you as long as I was free at the time. Don't have very much to do anyway. My Factions lvl 20 is Rou Xuan Tsamikayu, if you want to whisper me in-game.

Ya I would level up a bit first, leveling is so fast and so easy in cantha you wont have a problem doing it.
The yetis are level 15 so if you are a n00b character, I would get a good group.

Ok thanks for the help, but about the lvling part, I will only have a day to this quest, 'cause I'm leaving town tomorrow, and will be coming back late at night on the third, which leaves me with only July 4th to do it.
So will one day be enough for reaching a decent level, finding a good group + farm for a mask? Don't bother with July 5th, my time is PST, and I can't get up early in the morning and still be able to play.

I got to level 14 with a necro in I believe around 5 or 6 hours, its doable, it just depends upon how much time you have available to play on the days you can play.
If you don't get the mask its really no big deal, they look cool, but dont give you any extra armor (or any amor at all) or any extra bonus's. So unless you are a compulsive collector you wont miss much by not getting a mask at least IMHO
