Newbies Dismal Start. Can I get any Worse?

Fellow Players,

I only started playing a couple of days ago and am still on level 1 in Ascalon city doing the starting quests. I am trying to do the quest "The Blessings of Balthazar", clearing out the escaped catacomb skeletons. What a useless shambles so far !!!! My W/Mo has Orison of Healing,Bane Signet,Retribution,Symbol of Wrath,Healing Signet,&Frenzy.My weapons are Starter Hammer 3-5 dam,Longbow 4-6 dam,Fire Wand 4-6 dam,Holy Rod 4-6 dam.
Basically Iv'e already tried 4 times to kill off these skeletons, but keep getting my butt kicked. They stand in two's or three's and I cant seem to seperate them. I have tried attacking from a distance with hit-run tactics, but they seem to regen?
Anyone got any ideas or info on how they completed this "Starter" quest??

As a warrior, your primary skill usage should be warrior skills. You have the worst energy regen and energy levels, so relying on spells is typically a very poor idea.

You might also wish to consider grouping with someone, or gaining a few levels first.

A potential skillbar would include:

Healing Signet
Symbol of Wrath
All the weapon attacks you can fit

And put stat points in weapon (of choice), tactics, str, and smite.

As a level 1 warrior, you should go and kill some river skales outside ascalon city and level up to about 3 or maybe 4. When you get attribute points, follow Avarre's advice.

also go down to the river and smack some skales to gain a few levels.

also start another character and do all the other secondary profession quests to gain experience before settling on the one you want

You shouldn't be attempting that quest at level 1, there are many other easier ones to help you gain levels. The catacombs is one of the harder areas in pre-searing.

Many thanks for all the suggestions. I will study them and follow the advice, and level up some on the easier quests/skale killing.

collect those skale fins and trade 5 of them for a belt pouch from the collector to your left as you go out from the city

You should consider taking friends in there...max party size is 2...but any help will help!

something that went unnoticed:

dont use frenzy, well at least not in pve, with that you take double damage, and if you use healing signet after using frenzy, well means they will deal a lot of damage.

frenzy is good to use if the enemies arent atacking you, but if they focus on you try to not use frenzy
