GWFC Playoffs, Round Two Recap
josh axiom
Round 2 meant more Smite, more Ritualists, and more manic Assassin chaos, leaving us with a nearly complete Semi-Final bracket, which will be completed tomorrow once Irresistible Blokes and No Clue play their postponed match. Mostly Harmless and The Last Pride engaged in one of the most memorable series in recent memory, going the distance and leaving us on the edge of our collective seats. The Benecia Renovatio and Esoteric Warriors fought two of the most aggressive games of the playoffs, and featured an incredibly dramatic turn-around victory in Game 2 by EW. Meanwhile, Treacherous Empire’s tough losses to War Machine have left us with a tie for the fifth spot in the GWFC Points Standings, which will have to be decided in an additional series between Te and SotW. Read on for recaps and rundowns of today’s matches, and stay tuned Monday for the conclusion of Quarter-Final play. Also make sure to take a look at the updated playoff brackets at the bottom of the article!

exactly what did go on between TE and Mostly Harmless? I am interested, i heard something about Assassins being used at their finest
Former Ruling
In Round 2, Te faced WM...not Mostly Harmless Kijik. And this thread is about Round 2
Match one was in Weeping Stone. Te tryed several times at a E/mo and Hex Necro Split Gank that took out alot of WM's Archers - but was beat back everytime by 1-2 of WM. The fight was at the flagstand. Match didn't even make it to VoD if I remember, WM just overpowered Te into their base and destroyed it alittle over 20 minutes in (might have been close to 30).
Match 2 was on Imperial Isle. Neither of them tryed Ganking on this map so all of the archers were still up at VoD - they just spent literally 30 minutes just fighting at the Flagstand - barely any deaths on either side. At VoD Te fell apart and lost most of their NPCs and both Bodygaurds within a minute of VoD being active. So it was GG at 35 when their Lord came out to be slaughtered.

Good article, eyes glaze over after a couple of hours in observer mode after all.

Although this is about the 2nda match... If one want to see assassin pwnage, they better watch the WM(Kr) vs mn(Jp) on the first match.
I think WM took Te to some surprise, as WM actually decided to use the 8vs8 power tank instead of mobile split squad.
If WM had the 2 assassin squad, that ele and necro of Te could have been more devestating.

Update: The results are in from the final match of the Quarter-Finals, between Irresistible Blokes and No Clue. If only this match had come a day earlier, I could have titled this article "The Finnish Line", but I suppose that level of whit will have to lay dormant until another all-Finland match-up presents itself again. Read on for the match recap, and the finalized Semi-Final brackets.
