Luring Bosses Out?

Hey there

I'm not much of a solo farmer yet, but I've grown tired of doing x run for xx times with henchies to only have them take my drops.

The problem I foresee happening with some of the later bosses in Cantha, is that they seem to have "friends" next to them most of the time, considered part of the boss' "group", which, although I haven't done any testing, seems to imply that if you lure the boss, the rest of the group will follow suite.

Is it possible to still only lure the boss, even though there are other enemies in the same 'group' as his?

An example is the boss Inallay Splintershot (who's bow I really want...) in Morostav Trail, who is always accompanied by 5-6 Wardens. Would it be possible to lure the boss without his Wardens?

When a boss is accompanied by a group the first thing I do is analyse which types are with him. Mesmers block about 50% of you options, unless they dont shatter enchantments. Then look at the road to the boss, any problems there... As far as I know to Splintercall there are Dredges and Blood Drinkers, so the biggest danger there is Cripple, Poison, Knockdown and Life Stealing. You will need to either kill them all, avoid them, or be able to withstand it. Then, concerning Wardens, wardens specialise in crippling you and applying a -5 degen. furthermore churning earth can ruin your day. Energy Surges from the mesmers can kill your attempts as well. So far (I havent tried anything, havent been there yet) I would say a Touch Ranger would be able to make it. If there are no Shattering Mesmers, a Spirit Bond Monk might be able to do it, not sure though. Anyway, find out yourself, try diffirent builds from around here. Good Luck.
