Is it possible to check your ingame ping, like adding another switch to your Guild Wars executable (e.g -perf or -heapsize)? Perhaps there is some ingame command I'm not aware of? Does your ping change when you change territories, i.e do you actually change physical servers when you switch?

Thanks in advance,
Expez

The only way is to ping the server closest to the GW server you use. It works well and gives a good example of differences. Just incase AN doesnt aprove I wont say how, but all you need to know is the servers ips and how to trace the path there.

I've heard of support giving out the IP addresses for you to ping, and they will tell you how to do it. Just email them and tell them you've tried everything on the site and still get some latency, and ask how to ping.

Yes adding -perf after the target dierctory in the properties menu does add a ping/framerate counter in the upper right hand corner of your screen.

edit: actually, it's not a real ping display, it just shows the Bytes/sec.

edit: The display should be to the left of the compass at the top of the screen:

That bolt means that the client is downloading files while you're playing, and the number means how much you have downloaded (since the last zoning, i think).

I have a feeling this game is doing something they are not telling us. Doing calculations while idle. Downloading all the time while playing the game (not while loading the game).

Maybe they bought in to seti or something.

Guild wars does calculations when idle and compares the answers to an answer key to see if any hardware is malfunctioning.

Had it happen to me a few times ago but it's gone now.
