Bigger more artistic weapons please

Weapons should be bigger IMO (especially unique weapons). Look at some of these weapons from Lineage 2:

To clarify bigger:

I meant meaner looking more muscular weapons. Currently the zodiac weapons are about a pixel thin (They look like a texture with no volume, especially the sword and bow).

While I would like to see more flavored weapons. Anything larger than a fellblade is a bit silly.

Bigger weapons aren't the problem, and Lineage 2 compared to Guild Wars is a joke. Lineage 2 has superior textures and just about everything (Guild Wars has much better gameplay mind you, thats why I play it and not Lineage 2) But yes, Guild Wars is lacking flavor so to speak...

Lineage 2 is a pale comparison, but it has the same point. Just about everything even the low level armors are beautifully crafted. Heres a link. http://www.lineage2.com/Knowledge/item.html Guild Wars could definitly use some more exotic stuff, and less of the generic dull weaponry/armory.

Heres a good example, the texture is beautiful, And the aura makes it look very divine.

The armor is pretty amazing too.. But I think you get the point by now.

Just one more.. <_< >_> Incase the other two soak in.

I agree with NinjaKai, anything bigger then a fellblade, would be entering the realm of anime.

/not signed for size

But i do agree that more variaty would be nice

I have to disagree. If you make the weapons bigger, you wind up with a ridiculous, cartoon-y look, not at all in keeping with the flavor GW has expressed so far.

Hammers in general I agree, too many of the good skins are WAY TOO SMALL... although it would be a bit silly to have huge swords although some axes could recieve some size upgrade, more skins is always good, I say there should be no ugly skins, if there are, make em so ugly that it looks cool and fits w/ armors.

Ok, no offense but that last pic is a bit ridiculous. But having cooler weapons would be fun. Comparing the Tyrian weapons to Canthan ones, all the Canthan one are 100 times cooler looking than anything in Tyria.

Ok, I'd have to agree a little with you. I would like bigger weapons, but not too big comparing to WoW or lineage. Well most swords in gw are small in length when my warrior wields them, so i think Anet should boost up the size of swords. Or what Anet can do is enable an option to change the height of your char.

Well I guess just a little bigger. The fell blade isn't that big at all. It's not impressively big and I doubt anyone will complain when Anet actually ADD bigger weapons.

Those look great, I wish Guild Wars had such intricate and clear textures on armour and weapons. They don't have to be bigger, but they could look better than the blurred undetailed textures we get.

simply put: gw's armor and weapon designs on lacking compared to other medieval fantasy games...

They could add an option to scale the size or length of your weapon when you get it customized by a Weaponsmith.

I really am thinking of switching over to Lineage (can't play more than one MMO really, too much time absorbed from them). The only thing right now that's keeping me from doing so is lack of income...I need a job.

I Wouldn't suggest that. Lineage II looks great, but you'll never play a game with more grinding than it. Not only that, but you can lose your insanely hard earned equipment any time you die.
It could take you a week to get enouph currency for a sword, then die 2 minutes later and lose it.

Won't suggest it too. Better just looking at picture online.. of if possible, find a server version, and give you self all the nice equipment and best level.

I tried Lineage 2 years ago... and look at me now.. bouncing for paycheck to paycheck in a low pay dead end job. (well... kinda)

So you would rather have a small peniless default looking broad sword than a large exquisite Elderish Long sword with embroidery for your 100k weapon?

Either way I don't want to see farmers have anything more over regular players. You already have 15k armor to flaunt your money isn't this just another ploy so you can feel special?

Yes I'm poor.

GW got detailed armors and weapons too, but only on the main character. All surrounding one's are a level lower. It is made to reduce the cp usage (althou factons seems to bring it up).
Some people talk about gw's gfx are lacking just because they are so used to them, every difference make them feel so. Ask a hardcore lineage player and he will probably say "Gee this GW game got some pretty cool armors, I wish we had some too"

Well, this IS a fatansy role playing game. Why not big swords? Maybe canthan's like big swords?

You can't compare to real life because this is a game.

If they started making this game's appearance based on what things actually looked like in the Dark Ages, people would gouge their eyes out. Armor, for example, looked completely rediculous. It was a stupid looking chainmail suit with a chainmail hood and dopey cloth tabards. And there isn't a single weapon in this game that looks as plain as swords did back then.

This isn't a game based on realism, it's a fantasy game.

i didnt want to haft say this but every other Freaking Rpg is influenced by Asian theme it has all that kinda crap, you name it i hate it there for i like the way thing's are in GW since it's not as much BS as in those Asian Rpg games where you have a sword that's f-ing 6Meter's long hammer's that's big as a freaking Car ooo yeah that sure is cool if you are 12years old and watch Dragonball-z....
Does GW hafto be like Lineage, finaly fantasy, is it so wrong for it to be the way it is?

I do agree on more Artistic weapon's but the size is Good enough...

As long as the game doesn't start showing silly anime looking weapons I'll be happy.

Better skins, more detail, higher rez textures are needed. Bigger goofy looking weapons that are twice the size of the player... no thanks.

Stylish, refined weapons: yes.
Huge weapons? No.
If you want those, go play FF7 or something... or WoW where your shoulderpads stick out half a metre above your head most of the time and your sword is 3 times your length

Of course all of the weapons shouldn't be really big, but I don't see what the problem is with adding a few.
Besides, most people that play this watch anime, you guys are the minority. And the Devs will probably add stuff that the majority of players like. I Don't think this is asking to have every weapon really big, that'd be pretty bad.

Once they add new designs there will still be a similar complaint to add more and more designs. There's no point.

But the shapes of swords are a bit dull with the traditional long knife look...

The sizes of weapons don't matter. I wish I could use this sword...

Heightened state of mind.

P/W

I would have to say that the one handed swords for warrior are already unrealistic, it would be difficult to wield some of those swords with 2 hands, and they are swinging it around (hundred blade my ass).

Compared to the one handed sword, the axes and hammers could stand to be alot bigger, axes don't require nearly as much finesse as swords, and if the warrior can swing a sword which is bigger than the exsisting hammers in one hand, why the hell are the hammers so small?, he is using 2 hands right?

I also agree that Casters could stand to have some more attractive weapons, just because they are all used the same doesn't mean they have to be wands and staffs, they could very well make an energy of hand which is shaped like a shield, and a wand which is shaped like a rapier. Warriors get everything from bastard swords to daggers in their sword lineup, and axes made out of elemental energy, and the casters get..... a pile of sticks.....

As for artistic weapons, perhaps weapons with art and inscriptions on them, it would have to be a reasonably large weapon in order to fit a visible piece of art, unless small stripes is what you call art, it would be nice if they had some nicer looking art on some of these weapons, and they are basicly need an alternative weapon for casters if they are going to do any kind of art for them.

By bigger I didn't mean huge weapons. I meant more unique looking, more menacing, more muscular.

Just copy from WoW for instance:

Infact, those were taken straight from WoW Guru website.
