Hi folks, my ranger is now at that stage where I must ascend, and since as I'm after the prot of tyria title I'd like to know how to kill the boss quickly. Any ideas?

Or if you lack spirits, bring all bow skills and run up to him since he'll be forced to use an axe at point blank range..

Or just a few spirits, one spammable bow attack, and empty slots! Yes run close so he cant use a bow. And of course, no healing.

poison arrow him, dodge to him, let him spam spirits and degen, while wielding an axe at you, while you are in "whirling defence" or something like this

Indeed, Spirits (no Fertile Season!), empty Slots, no interrupts, no heals. He spams spirits, you blow him up. Easy as pie. :-D

Bring Pet,
Pure pet skills:
Comfort Animal
Charm Animal
All pet attack skills
Use your bow and fire, while telling your pet to kill
Two attacks vs 1. Doppleganger will use axe against pet and die. Doppleganger does not have a pet, so its a 2 on 1 situation.

Can you bring a pet now? I'm pretty sure you couldn't before (a looooong time ago when I ascended my ranger).
On a side note ascending with spirits spam is so easy that I changed my secondary in Senji's to R for all my new canthan chars and killed him with ranger skills.

Took me all of 15 seconds... I applied poison, and spammed 2 bow attacks whilst he spammed 5 spirits. Thanks again for the info.
