Exclusive Events for Tyria

anet should have a small team just devoted to events and trading. for all chapters.
like small team of 3 programers, 1 rigger, 1 animator and 4 artist

Plus who knows if the events will be the same, can't very well have Grentchies running around Cantha..... maybe ANet will make a different flavour to each of the events in Tyria and Cantha ???

I think that everyone needs to remember that these events aren't to be taken for granted. ANet doesn't have to go out of their way to do these things for us.
Also, from a marketing perspective, it's unlikely they will do any Tyrian based events in the future. The Halloween and Christmas events were there to reward people for buying the first game. The Tengu event was a reward for preordering. And this event was a reward for buying Factions. It was delayed because of the shortage of collectors editions.
Wasn't there something special that occured when Sorrow's Furnace was added too?
IMO, they will continue to focus on new chapters as events in those chapters will help increase future sales.

What has Tyria to celebrate? Anniversery of The Seering? Fleeing of the Krytan Royalty? Deldrimor Dwarves loosing more ground to the Stone Summit? Kingdom of Orr sinking like Atlantis? Finding back Gwen?

Put mini festivals occurring in obscure villages out in instanced zones, like the village that Galstaff the Light is sitting in out in the Talmark Wilderness. So their village is having its annual festival -- you can get some meaningless trinket like a hat or something. Watch word spread and server logs of instances in that zone go through the roof... A week later and the zone goes back to normal... party's over, folks... :P
Local Festivals FTW. Events don't *have* to be huge marketing blitzes. Makes for more "RP" to draw people into a believable universe. After all, you still gotta have "RP" in "CORPG"...

People want better deals all the time and if it wasn't for those people always questioning the monthly fees of MMO's we might not have a no pay to play Guild Wars.

I personally hope that future chapters return to Tyria, but that is another thread. |

start a quest in cantha finish a quest in tyria, heck make a radom quest where you get ship recked on a island. A secert aera where your chances of making it in is like1 and 90 or something like that.
too bad the factions didnot have a real boat ride, hopefully in chapter 3.
heck add some bad events too! to add to the rpg. Like an earth qauke or the gods are mad or somthing like that

i own both prophecies and factions and the new events are great and i thank anet to do so, but i a certain way i must agree that they sould not let tyria die, i think its normal that they will give more atention to cantha but to have some events in tyria could be a really good idea, even in the faq of prophecies they said the ppl who didnt buy the next chapters would not be penalized with that, wich i think it implies to not let tyria die and keep making playing GW in tyria fun.
but hopefully we will still have winters day and helloween in tyria so thats not bad =P
tough i think ppl should not whine in these kinds of things and be thankfull for every event a.net does because remember this is monthly fee free MMORPG

I think that the Mad king is exclusive of Tirya. Hard to say about Winters day if it will be both.
Sir Skullcrasher
I think peoples forgot that Tyria gotten the new Green Drops (Totem Axe, Icebreaker etc) few weeks back.. shouldn't that count as a special event? I know peoples want like holiday type event for Tyria again but who ever said we won't get one?
Just wait it out is my best opinion!

They might make tyria only even to get people who only have factions to get prophecies. Its still a double sided coin. |

Tyria is over a year old... and you already bought it.... why would they do it?
The reason they are having holidays in factions now is because they want more people to buy the game. If you think the dragon festival is going to be around nect year, you have another thing coming.

anet should create events for tyria and cantha !
Lady Frost Bite
my question is why should anet do these things for tyria people when tyria people can't even do the things that anet askes of them. for example. it took anet doing an update for people to kinda stop the wts and wtb stuff in la, i don't know how many times this has been brought up. i don't understand why anet should take the time to make new stuff for tyria when you people can't even take the time to go to the trade channel

Thanks Giving in Nightfall, New Year's Eve in Tyria, Cherry Blossom in Cantha. Hmmm .... how's that for marketing.

Pandora's box
Its not realistic to expect events for chapters older than 1 year. Updating core game features, yes, but for everything else it will end one day.
In fact I think sooner or later Arenanet even must take a decission about allowing old time skills in PvP games. Because an outdated balancing system would heavily limit future chapters to be 'more of the same'. Adopting a system like MtG where only the last 2 years updates are allowed to be used for PvP seems inevitable to me.
Bottomline: The show must go on and older chapters cannot expect much more than hitchhiking along on the waves of core updates.

I am sure Wintersday and Halloween events will stay Tyrian, but the decorations will speared to both chapters.

Tyria
Wintersday
Halloween
Cantha
Tengu Event for Pre-orders
Dragon Festival
Seeing that Wintersday was in Tyria it should be in both Tyria and Cantha IF it's to happen again.

Gaile also said there might be another event, guess we will have to wait and see.
