What does Tyria have to do with it?

If anet went this route they will promote players to buy both chapter1 and chapter2
It will also promote people to merge the both chapters!
there should be world events to as well.
they could add some earth qaukes bad events as well as good to shake things up1

Well, disregarding what has been 'unofficially' said by Alex and Gaile, I think maybe the Mad King's event could be Tyria only (and I wouldn't mind, even being an owner of both). It's definitely not too big not to be. I think the only one really definite to be worldwide is the wintersday festival. I think that would be nice to have the Halloween one remain Prophecies-only. Again (disclaimer), I have both so really wouldn't be put out either way, nor would I care much. I just think it's a good candidate for it.
I know Gaile has mentioned those two in partiocular being GW-wide, but again, like everything else she says, it doesn't make it official.. At least that's what they've been telling us.

The Mad King was Tyrian wasn't he? The Haloween event could easily be kept toTyria only. Wintersday was about the battle between Dwayna and Grenth, and since Cantha (and presumably all other continents on this world) worship the same gods, Wintersday would be global. So, Arenanet just really ned to make one permanent holiday event for each continent (Tyria has Haloween and Wintersday, Cantha has the Dragon Festival and Wintersday), though obviously discounting if they do more special, once off events like the Day of the Tengu.

Meh I'll buy every chapter that comes out most likely so, despite where events take place I'll probably be able to take part if I wish. Seriously 50$, not a ton of money to dish out when you think how much you'd have to spend to get that 1500 hours/year (roughly) of entertainment elsewhere. Thats like the equivalent of mowing 2 people's lawns, or babysitting a couple of times. Or if you aren't a child, you probably have a job, and can probably afford the cost.
I make no assumptions though, just saying....

I like what Raziel's saying here, an events team (isn't there one already? or one in the making?) is a good idea. It could cover various areas and keep things lively for multiple lands.
I personally don't view Tyria or Cantha as any difference in size, they're both alot of fun and I travel between both quite frequently. And for various reasons. I also don't think the initial core post of this was whining at all..(and honestly, the whole 'buy or die' attitude is too wrought with negativity it seems lately) It's good to vocalize about concerns and see if anything will be planned for more events. After all, a fair portion of the regular populace is non-Factions in Tyria, without them it would be very lonely.. and quiet, if not already. Something tells me more events or quests will bring people back to Tyria through Nightfall or even more in Factions. Who knows.. but stay optimistic.

Sures theres been Haloween, Christmas, etc in Tyria. But I think anet should make a day that honors Tyria and nothing else. Tyria can have special events n stuff and all the Major cities (Except. Denravi ;p nobody goes there
) can be done up n stuff to honor Tyria's heritage with the Serpents and stuff ;D!
~The Dragon festival honored Cantha, so why not one fro Tyria? T-T;

Didn't someone say there were three teams? Two that alternate between chapters and one that adds new content/events etc? So that shouldn't be the problem.
Actuallly from a marketing perspective it would make sense to add chapter specific events for every chapter new or old. Why? Quite simply because there are people who have only bought Factions and maybe don't have Prophecies. Just like there are people who have Chapter 1 but not Chapter 2.
Now they will see messages like "fun event going on in <chapter you don't have>" so what will their reactions be?
a) Meh
b) That's annoying!
c) Hmm, I might buy that chapter
So in other words some might get annoyed and complain but there will also be another reason for people to buy the other chapter. That translates to more sales for NCSoft and Anet, which is what their business model is based on.
They added new greens in Tyria, there's no reason to think they won't add more content to Tyria in future (if only as a marketing tactic)
