that other guild wars fansite gwonline did this and it sure spead up there forums, it used to lag quite a bit and be down but after making the forums only readable to people signed in (members) what a change....

Guru is an overall better site imo but the lag is terrible majority of the time

Solange,

Yes and we apologize for this. But this is not an action that will be taken on this site. Guru will not require someone to register to view these forums.

The idea is nice, but the effect is something to be taken into account:
1) GWG won't have the 'open friendly house' feeling anymore
2) potential huge increase in new members, leading only to more db space used in comparison to current situation.

Still, interesting idea, altough as you can see the Administrator has allready taken a viewpoint on it. But keep it up, new ideas are always welcome.

I do prefer GUru overall and I do like how your forums are setup and readable by everyone but its just been terribly laggy most of the time and moreso now that school is out for lots of people

Today is the 9th and it is still slow. Maybe you meant the server would be updated 'sometime this summer'?

Server maintenance usually happens during late night, to avoid the bulk of traffic. The next server maintenance is indeed tonight, no ETA but the site will be down for about 30 minutes to an hour tonight.
