Point to good IW threads please

Can i have some links to the important Illusionary Weaponry builds please? The search function is not working for me ATM

Usually an IW build is:

12 + 1 + 3 Illusion
9 + 1 Insp
9 Tactics

Me/W
Illusionary Weaponry {e}
Arcane Echo
Distortion
Flurry
Imagined Burden
Ether Feast / Healing Signet
Illusion of Weakness
Res Sig

or AFAIK that's what the build is.

Basically you use Flurry to take down targets, slowing them with Imagined Burden. If something attacks you, you switch to Distortion so that you take less damage. Heal with Healing Signet or Ether Feast.

I would call it a "terrible gimmick" for farming which has many, many, more effective options that affect multiple targets instead of one.

Stop promoting yourself Avarre. We know all about IW, you use it for farming (and I have no complaints about that), I use it in RA occasionally (and so far you have had no complaints), but if you sit back and look at it IW is a gimmick skill.

Rofl Eaimirth, if I wanted to promote myself I would have had the links out before anything else. There are many more ways to farm with IW than 55ing, and I recognize that. I also don't have the links to various other farming builds for IW so I didn't post any.

IW still remains one of the more effective ettin-killing builds for mesmers, though it must be noted that the profits are seriously diminished.

We was refering to us; and yes you are right about the ettin farming...never really found out what happened to those sup abs rune prices. Less wammos and more 'sins I guess.

You obviously wouldn't know, because it was a factions thing. The drop rates on super vigor and super absorb were massively increased, combined with the renewed zeal on chest farming resulted in a mass oversupply. =/

That and all the wammos made ammos.
