Dagger Question: Damage Types

Browsing through Wiki, I've noticed far more daggers (including the more popular skins) inflict piercing damage, while a smaller number of dagger types inflict slashing.

There is only one set of armor that reduces damage from slashing attacks, and it is ironically assassin armor. Likewise there are many many sets of armor over the various other classes that provide extra protection against peircing damage.

I'm trying to build a perfect set of Zealous Daggers of Defense, but I'm having trouble finding a set of 15^50 daggers that inflict slashing damage and there are no desirable greens that do so either.

My question is this, is the damage difference between slashing daggers and peircing daggers noticable enough to hinder the effectiveness of your character?

I don't even hardly get the difference between damage types, never payed attention, all i know is that holy damage is armor ignoring, and does double damage to undead...

I don't think the damage type matters considering the bonus damage from attack skills is where the real damage comes from. Unless you're running some crazy Locust's Fury build, it shouldn't make too much of a difference.

You could always make your own slashing +15%>50 daggers. There's a collector for Butterfly Daggers of that type down in the Durheim Archives. I don't remember what he wants, but I do recall it's not overly difficult to aquire as I have a few pairs sitting in my storage waiting for mods.
