Just wanted to take a second and say, I really enjoyed the Festival. The extra decorations and fireworks were cool. I really liked the music. The announcement on screen about the 15 minute emperor warning was really an awesome idea.

Anyways I just wanted to say a quick Thank you to all involved in setting up the Festival event.

What you guys did with Shing Jea and the celestial charges was really awesome, and a lot of fun.

My district was one of the few to win in the end, which made the 48 picked up prizes that much sweeter.

great event reminded me a lot of Wintersday. I only wish there was big finale like Anet said.

On paper it was great, but no first event and the last one was really bugged.

Erm, did some districts actually lose? (except the ones on purpose)
What happend by the way when you did lose?

I loved it too, though I haven't been able to spend much time on GW during the event.
I'd liked to see a grand finale now (well, 1 hour ago at 7.00 GMT) as I missed thoe during Wintersday and Helloween

Good fun, and the extra orb drops meant I could get my Rit a mask I didn't think I'd be able to.. being as she's too squishy to do the harder missions.

What WAS the finale ? Wasn't it supposed to be something we wouldn't soon forget ? I guess you can't forget something when you don't even know what it was...

I guess Gaile said it was the fireworks and all that lot.

But what if your district lost every time? Then those unfortunate players got no special finale.

....*confused*

They made a big deal a few hours ago when Rujiyo called everyone to the monastery, he said something about a big battle and nothing happened. What's up with that?

edit: maybe the devs celebrated the 4th a little too hard, in which case i forgive them

Yes, some districts did lose in the last one while actually trying Though I must say that 36 charges wasn't too bad considering it was only me and one other person against 2x the usual number of grasps.

-Tom

EDIT: I too must say that this event was a blast. I hope that future events are as fun as this one was and that we get more games of chance to play.

It was funny to see all those running people because they lost :P
The grasps attacked you if you lost the minigame with the grasps.
But the remedy was simple :P /dance and they don't attack you
Or switch districts untill you find a winning one

Overall I'd say the festival games were a good idea and hope to see more of those in future (maybe less inclination for the Charmed to be AFK titles hehe)

The Emperor/run around and grab prizes was hmm, nothing special really - Mad King was far superior and much more enjoyable as was the Wintersday finale.

Despite all the bugs that were in the festival, I enjoyed it. I didnt have enough time to participate in the dragon arena and other games, I really wanted the lucky title too At least I got all my PvE chars masks though Hopefully theres another Dragon Festival next year.

I enjoyed the festival as well. I think the current festival machanics (e.g., you have five days to get your orbs, can get mask every two hours and then a supplymaster is available for a week after) is perfect. I didn't experience and significant bugs (I saw four emperors once but no big deal) and think it went rather well.

For future festivals, I would prefer if most presents went straight into your inventory. I liked the way the Mad King did it personally. There *should* be some incentive to be present (e.g., maybe earn extra gifts by being there). I thought that having *all* gifts drop (requiring that you grab them) was a bit too far in that direction though. I would suggest that the main character give some items (rice wine, cakes) directly to inventory, and drop *some* gifts.

Overall, I liked the way the festival was run and really enjoyed it. I hope that future festivals work this way (especially the mask part).

Well done event. And personally, I agree that a single finale is impractical with players all over the world - much better to have repeats throughout the day.

Thank you ANet! Though I didn't really get into the game portion of the event, I though it was very clever and nicely done. I will miss being able to get into that section of Shing Jea after the update. (so beautiful there with the dragon bridge...) The Dragon Masks look wonderful! =)

^^ I only got to participate in 1 time in the event since my computer had a major trojan/spyware/virus blockage yesterday, but i did manage to have fun in that short period.

If you were in American Dis 63 last night around 9ish, i was the one dropping all the snowmen and pulling out all the ghosts in a box XD

I think what was most fun was getting the celestial charges, because for some reason, the local chat turned into video game (specifically Star Fox 64) reference central because people were running from the baddies ^^

"Fox! Help me! I can't shake him!"
"Do a barrel roll to shake him off!"
"Use the boost to chase!"

Though I did finish some of the mini-missions, I didnt find the time to do the last 3... I hope there is a small chance for a Tombs-like update that is permanent so that we can all still enjoy partying with the Grasps.

I had a blast! I enjoyed the masks and the new titles added. Good job too with listening to the fanbase feedback on event warnings, extra time, etc.

Very fun. I really enjoyed it.

What I hope is that after a few years, there'll be close to a festival every month (i.e. Wintersday, Halloween, Dragon Festival). Seasonal content ftw.
