I'm glad they are not customized.
I have four characters nearing their birthdays, but I'm not crazy about actually using a minipet, so I may keep one if I like it, but I probably won't keep more than that.
And if someone else wants them, I'd rather a player get it than me trashing it. And if I can make a small profit in the process, all the better!

Think of it this way, hats, weapons, etc, it makes sense that they can be customized. Get your hat adjusted to the right size to fit your rangers head, that makes sense. Get a bow grip on your bow, carve it a little so it fits your rangers hand, that makes sense. It doesn't make sense that a minipet would be customized.

I got a bone drake yesterday for my ranger who just turned 12 months which I never saw coming lol. I didn't realise she was that old. 
But I think they are just fine without being customized. Selling and trading them seems ok with me, its not effecting me in any way.

What exactly it the point of destroying a good market? Mini-pets are totally fun and have zero effect on the game. They give rich people something to spend money on and lucky people quick cash. For most people they are either cute or an easy 20k. My brother managed to get Shiro and Rurik which is totally awesome for him. He's farmed about zero, but now he can get all his characters pvp ready without it being a problem.

Definitely no need to customize these. I personally love my Kuunavang, and would've been very sad if I was stuck with the Temple Guardian my warrior received.

I much prefer the way Anet left them not customized. For those who don't care to keep them, it's a nice boon to sell, and for those who have the better part of a year to go before they'll receive one, they have a chance to buy something they really want, rather than feel shafted.
And I appreciate my mini hydra and mini jungle troll, but I'd gladly trade for or buy a mini Zunraa, if they made one. It's nice to have that option.

This is a case of some people who want to impose restrictions on others simply because they dont like/need the option that's been given them.
So what if people are trading and selling/buying the minipets? What's it to you? Does it hurt you? How is this any different from buying or selling any other item in the game?

i think selling is fine, like some people have pointed out, if you are running several characters (like i am), and you get duplicate pets, why not be able to sell\trade them for something else. I like the idea a pet trader, that would have been nice, but it is a bit late now

In no way should they be customized. They are not armor, they are just a fun thing to have, and It would feel very confined to have it customized to one character, and not be able to move them around. As for selling - who cares? >.<

I would love for them to have been customized, as for me it would feel more personal and more RPG like to get a familiar (not necessarily my dream pet bought with gold) to accompany me. That's not how they coded the minipets, so I am fine with the way it is.
And I assure you, my Jewish ancestors would tell you to let others have an opinion. Not everyone will believe the same thing, that doesn't correlate with them being "Nazis".

Personally I'm glad they aren't customized. I got a Kuunavang from another member and am very happy with it. I'm very curious as to what I will get when my Warrior hits his b-day. Doubt I'd be lucky enough to get a bone dragon though.

From a financial point, everything should be customized. Since the pets weren't, I sold all mine first go around for 100k + ectos, and now I can buy the ones I want for less than 30k.

I think the people are complaing are the ones that got stuck with a fungal wallow. I am glad if people want to sell them...then good for them. I wished I could hand down my armor when i got the new 15k kurzick warrior set, I had a friend that just started and if I could have given him my old armor that would have been awesome. I think the whole customized armor is to restrictive. I do like the weapon customizing. You have a choice or you can hand it down if you dont customize it. Customizing for extra stats would be nice. But customizing to be restrictive isnt.

They are already useless enough without making them more useless than ever by customizing them.
Plus your idea to "choose the mini pet you want so you get what you like" wouldn't work. Based on screenshots, I thought I would like a mini Kuuna. So I bought one. Then I realized that I hate the noises it makes, and I hate the way it never stays close to me and hence no one ever knows that it's mine and it feels like it has no connection to my character. The only way to realize if you "want" a specific mini pet or not is to actually have one first and then discover all the flaws with it by direct use.

People should be able to sell them. In fact I think things like the dragon masks should not be customized either. My reason is that they are useless and for some people the only possible use they will be is for the money they could get for them.
Make them worthwhile in some way or allow them to be sold to the people that get off on these things.

well, i dont think they should have been custumised. what if i dont like the pet i got and decide to make extra cash by selling it or trading for a pet i like?
as example, i hate the siege turtle, i rather hav ethe 100k for new stuff i wnat to look at? honestly if i get any mini-pet that is not a dragon im selling it for sure, cuz i rather have 15k armors on all my characters then a tiny trall.....

I think that if Mini-pets HAD been customized at first, than it would have worked out. Once your character hits 12 months (and you type /age) you get a pet select screen (no Kuunavang). You pick whichever you THINK will be the best, then you have that on your character.
If you're one of the poeple who think it's just a waste of space, just don't accept the Mini-pet if you type in /age (this would have to be an option). This way you don't get the "useless" pet, but could get it if you ever wanted it.
Sure people who get the pet would find that their pet isn't what they though it would be, but it is a FREE item that you are GIVEN. There is a rule about birthdays; don't complain about your presents, they were given to you.
Economy, I think we have enough issues in that without the mini-pet market.
Oh and about moving your pet around your account. If the mini-pets were customized, then it would show others that your character is over 1 year old.
*This is not a change sugestion, this is a point I am making. The changes cannot be made at this stage*
