Do the Luxons have an easy, repeatable quest for faction farming like the Kurzicks do? (Securing Echovald Forest)

Yes its called the jade arena. Not far from Breaker hollow. Its also good for chesting hunting too as two or even three chests can spawn in the nearby hills.

From guild wiki, all the repeatable quests have the little clockwise arrow after the quest.

Yes, but the Jade Arena doesn't appear to be runnable like Securing Echovald Forest is. Are there any Luxon quests like it?

The Luxon supply line quest is still "almost" runnable, but you probably need to bring a couple friends along. Also, you will need to kill 2 fish attacking the quest reward NPC at the end. I'm not sure about the "securing" quests, as people don't seem to do them much and I can't really compare them to Securing Echovald Forest, as I'm not sure how that works. Can that quest be run without fighting, and without significant risk of dying ? Is that the one that can be done before taking the quest, then taking and redeeming the quest at the same time, thus avoiding all Luxons ?

That's right. Do the Luxons have anything like that?

This topic came up in a thread not too long ago. Someone mentioned that one of the Luxon quests behaves like this, but I can't personally confirm. It is one of two with a name similar to the Securing Echovald Forest quest.

Luxons have...ugly armor...I was Luxon at first, but I don't remember anything as easy to repeat as the Kurzick ones.

It seems like there probably is a mission like Securing Echovald Forest, since the top Luxon alliance has about as much Faction as the top Kurzick alliance. Can ANYONE check and see if Scout the Coast is like it?

Since there don't appear to be any helpful Luxons, I managed to reach the quest and test it to confirm that yes, it does work like Securing Echovald Forest. Although it's much harder to run with swarms of Yeti and insane blood-spiking mobs of Rot Wallows...

I just do aspenwood. I may be slightly slower than the now-nerfed supply runs, but it's a fun way to get 700+ faction

I'm a Luxon, and a member of the Keys alliance, also formerly in the TC alliance before reforming into Keys. The easiest faction farming on the Luxon side, at least of the repeatable quests, is the Jade Arena. Nothing easily runnable ahead of time like Securing Echovald Forest.

Actually, I imagine a skilled Warrior probably could run Scout the Coast... Still I don't see any ff groups in Breaker Hollow. Why does no one run this?

Because Jade arena is quicker to do.

Still, the Securing Echovald Forest/Scout the Coast way only requires one person to do anything, which would seem to make it more desirable... Also, it looks like Breaker Hollow is the best place to start both quests from, but I don't see any farmers there. Do the Luxons do challenge/competitive missions for faction or something?

Joined a group FF'ing the Scouting quest. 1 war ran it and the rest of us just went and died to the naga or oni. Took about 5 mins per run. (Hey, I liked the luxon 1500 Rt...)

That exactly what I meant; the Kurzick run goes like that. (Only my alliance members don't usually die in the process) I can't seem to find any groups that do it, for some reason...

I did all of the luxon quests on my necromancer. Absolutely all of them until the point of the Gayla Hatchlery which I cant get in because I did not read the unspent part in 'Befriending the Luxons.' I cant remember seeing any repeatable quests that you can do. But, I will look around because I really need luxon faction if I am going to want to get to Gayla.

Oh yeah and about the Armors. Absolutely every Canthan -- Luxon, Kurzick, whatever, is UGLY. The only armor I would EVER even consider buying is the 15p male/female necromancer luxon.

Now that I look at it, the Kurzick side doesn't appear to have many faction farmers either. Have both sides moved entirely to alliance battles of something? (It would have to be an easy and efficient way for Komalis Protector to maintain 16 mil faction)

Darth Marth, here is the lowdown..

I can take my necro and a group of henchies, and do Jade Arena quest ouside of breaker hollow in 3:25 minutes on average. The reward is 400 faction, 2000 xp, 150 gold. I go all out MM with one Frozen Soil in my bar. When my guild gets 8 of us doing it which is quite often, sometimes it's quicker and your guild scores 3,200 faction every 4 minutes per say and no one ever dies. Throw in the fact we all just BS and take it easy on the team speak server it makes it pretty enjoyable on a social level.

Math Breakdown,
60 minutes (1 hour) devided by 4 minutes per run = 15 runs in one hour avg.
8 guildies Multiplied by 400 faction per run = 3,200 faction per run.
3,200 Faction, Times 15 Runs = 48,000 guild faction in 1 hour.

We broke 100k in under 2 hours one night.
Scouting the coast can't compare to those numbers.

Lol why do quest when you can do Alliance Battle? I'm on Kurzick side, and my chances of loosing is 85% chance. ANET made it easy for Luxon, because on 1 Alliance Battle, Luxon can get a cap in under 8 seconds, and get 3 caps right before kurzick even gets 1 (Map that doesnt have slatspray dragon). I dont know why Luxon wins 85% chance, dunno if its just good players or if they have greater advantage, but I hate loosing over and over, loosing 6 times in row almost everyday means something is up.

I will do Etnarian Keys AB map cause it favors the luxon and you do get a nice chance of winning. But overall, that farm quest is still faster. It just gets boring. As does Alliance Battles after you've done them enough. I like AB but there needs to be more maps then the 3 I've seen. And like you mentioned, if you get on a loosing streek you really loose out alot, you may get 600k or so faction for 1 loss that takes a good 15 min or so. In that time I could of got 1500 faction guaranteed. There is no win/loss risk involved in the farming runs. Anet was really just trying to balance the whole thing out. Which they did pretty good. You see more AB fighters then runners. AB is more enjoyable then the farming run over and over. I tend to bounce back and forth depending on my mood.

I am a luxon and most other luxons, as far as I can tell, farm the jade arena quest or farm fort aspenwood. I much rather doing fort aspenwood, because it is fun. I would do the jade arena, but I did three runs of it and got bored of it. Fort Aspenwood might take longer to farm faction (not sure if its longer or shorter. I guess it really just depends on the teams you get), but it doesn't seem to get boring at all.

BTW, where do you get this scouting the coast quest? I don't think I've gotten it yet...

'scout the coast' you get from NPC outside Breaker Hollow - Mount Qinkai exit. You can run to the 4 locations (if you know where they are) before taking quest so the kurzicks dont spawn but it makes little differance as they cant really touch you anyway, the Rot Wallows are the only danger.

IMO it takes far too long and is far to tedious & boring for only 400 faction, I prefer Aspenwood myself, which is much mor fun.

ALTERNATIVE LUXON FACTION FARM (non-PvP)

This is an alternative way to either farm for Luxon Faction points or experience without having to do PvP. This consists of combining two quests into one – Luxon Supply Lines and The Jade Arena.

Total Reward (2 quests)
4,000 xp
800 Luxon Faction points
300 gold

Time: From 5 minutes to 20 minutes, depending on Arena fight.

---------------------------------------

Start at Breaker Hollow (Luxon)

Go outside into Archipelagos. Set off in a Southerly direction.

Clear the four groups of four Jade Sea creatures (2 Assassins, 1 Ritualist, 1 Monk) en-route up to the cutting between the two Islands on the left side, just past the ship.

Go back to the entrance to Breaker Hollow and talk to Supplymaster Kelos – take the quest Luxon Supply Lines. You will be given a Luxon supply chest to carry.

Clear the first group by the rock arch of six Kurzick ambushers.

Go to the Jade Arena. Drop the Luxon supply chest outside. Go in and talk to Arena Master Portus. Take the quest. Go back into the centre of the quarry and kill all eight of the convicts. This can be either a quick or long fight - they do use a rez spell a lot. Talk to Arena Master Portus for reward – 2,000 xp, 400 Luxon faction points and 150 gold.

Go outside the Jade Arena and pick up the Luxon supply chest. Carry on southwards towards the cutting. The second group of six Kurzick ambushers should drop here just past the coral – kill all of them.

There is a group of about six Jade Sea creatures (1 Ranger, 2 Assassins, 2 Ritualists, 1 Monk) just past here including the Ranger Boss Razortongue Frothspit (Elite Skill Melandru’s Shot). If you are patient, you can run past these when they have moved away, otherwise you may have to fight them.

Sometimes but not always, a third group of six Kurzicks drop just past this group, these can be either run past or lured towards the resurrection shrine outside the entrance to Cavalon.

Carry on Southwards. Just past the coral another group of six Kurzick ambushers will appear – kill these. Depending on where they are, the last group of Jade Sea creatures can either be run past or killed.

Quartermaster Hector can be found nearby on the sand fighting two Scuttle Fish. Kill these to get the Luxon Supply Lines quest reward – 2,000 xp, 400 Luxon Faction points and 150 gold.

---------------------------------------

REMEMBER: To drop the supply chest to fight enemies.

NOTE: The Jade Sea Quarry quest does not have to be taken. I have included this for maximum points.
Also, you may not want to clear the area first, but it does make it easier to do the Supply quest.
Another reason for clearing the area and doing the Jade Quarry fight is so if you do this 'farm' a lot, it does not make it look like a 'bot' is doing it.

TIP: For you Treasure Hunter's, take some Luxon Chest Keys with you as there normally is between two or three chests en-route.

That's entirely too much work for efficient farming. Just do the Jade Arena.
