I have been all over this forum trying to find out what and why is the best staff/rod+offhand/sword or axe+offhand combo for a pure healing monk. At this point I am very confused. I have been using Brohns Holy rod + a 20/20 or +27en/+30hp offhand. I also have The Scar Eater and, at this point, just about every other option available. It seems from looking at the healing skills that it is better to focus on recharge if you are going to have the option of only one, but I could be missing out on a better well rounded option that also adds health or +1/20%. I am trying find out what other healing monks are using and why. This is obviously my first monk and I want to be as effective as possible for whatever team I join. Basically, I’ve been going monk weapon crazy and really appreciate any assistance. Thank you in advance!

WEll it just depends on what kind of skills you are using. For example a mostly enchantment healer will most likely have a +5 energy 20% enchantment sword or axe with a 20/20 focus or a +15 energy 20% recharge healing(or 10%recharge all) on him. Bonders are known to use a staff with 15 energy 20/20 although you can get a simular or even beter effect with a +5 sword/axe and a off-hand 20/20. It realy just depends what you like to use and what is best suited for the build. Some even use off-hands of other atributes then monk atributes for example to let Energy Drain recharge faster.

This question is a good one but the awnser is huge since evryone has his own style. And ofcourse you have to consider that certain items will cost more effort or money to get then others.

I hope this covers your question.

it depends on what elite u use
if u use mor/e drain go for 5^50 20% recharge inspiration + 20% recharge inspiration +30hp (or garbok's chalice)
if u use monk elites
20/20 staff +5 ene +30 hp for healing
20/20 staff + 5 ene 20% enchant for protting

Thank you both for the break down, it makes sense. I plan to use Word of Healing(WoH) as my elite. I currently use Martyr, but I am still working toward capping WoH. It sounds like it would be better to forget the greens and stick to a basic (and much less expensive) 20/20 collectors staff with +5en/+30hp added for my purposes, although the Scar Eater and Brohns Rod sure are sexy, lol. Thank you again.

Well....Theres alot of weapons Monks needs depending on your skillbar..Yeah and the time of need like for example..in PvP you should have these differ types of weapons.. a +5 energy sword or axe with +30 health and offhand should be 20/20 focus then you should have another thats +27 energy and +30 health for when you in altar matches at the last few seocdns and need all the ehal for the Hero then you need a Scar Eater or staff thats 20/20 with +60 health and maybe a staff with +5 energy and +30 health or +5 energy and +20% enchants.. Monks are veyr expensive when it coems to weapons then theres Prot Monks which you dont need to know.. Also you need a -5 energy axe or sword and -2 energy scroll from Cities of ascalon quest. Btw the sword or axe thats -5 energy is for hiding your energy against e surgers.. GL
