Skill :: Picklocking

Idea :: The higher points you have in the skill the better chance you have of picklocking chests and not having to use a key. If you fail to picklock the chest the chest is " destroyed " for the whole group. The more chests you successfully picklock you gain points in the skill and work your way to gaining a new title called " Master Picklocker " or something..



This would be sweet if it could work .. you guys can add stuff or input on how you would set it up.

Greifers, low to no points in the skill purposely destroying chests.

Chest-running Warriors with Huge skills in lock picking. Purples just become free gold, gold drops become less risky.

And while we're at it... realstically why would you close the chest after you open it?

"Ok Bob, I got my crystalline, it looks like there is a Mursat hammer in there... Oh crap, I closed it again. Hope you brought a key."

As in points do you mean attribute points? If so that would wreck builds and cause less damage or less defense.

too much like runescape. RS has many skills, and I dont think picking locks should come into GW.

hmm decent idea, but it shouldn't destroy the chest for the team, X.X that would suck. Also the difficulties rises for higher rated chests, basically anything that can drop a gold with relatively high chances, is hard to pick lock, and uhh only multiple people can lockpick, to limit chest runs..

The chances with the lockpicking should not be high and if the attempt fails, the chest should become inaccessible to the lockpicker alone. A skill that allows a player to attempt a risk at the expense of others should not be implemented.

It should destroy the chest for only you, just like a chest is "used up" for only you.

It also shouldn't have an attribute line, it should be experience based (use your title for it).

That's if it is done at all

how about you don't get better at it, you just either use a key or take a chance of screwing the chest over for yourself.

lol, they shouldnt have picklock, but instead remove keys from merchants or make chests not all gold or all purp

Rogue's can picklock ZOMG IMA GO PLAY WOW! no ty... I just think the idea is interesting, I'm kinda neutral I just like spewing ideas..
