Population Difference

Most of my friends I have are kurzick. I wanted the luxon armor so I joined a Luxon guild. I got enough jade to get the armor I need. I went back to my old guild which is kurzick.

After getting a party I enter. We wait 4 minutes for the battle to start. I looked at the disticts. There were 3 disticts of Kurzick. On the luxon side you hardly ever see 2 dist. If there is 2 there is only a handful of people in there. I've been there at times and seen less than 20 people in dist 1. That was at 8pm est one night. This also makes for horrible picks of team mates. There isn't much to choose from. On the luxon side I never had to wait for a battle to start.

The main influence is the merchant price of amber. Amber and Jade should be equal value. Many people farm amber because its more expensive. If its equal we can see some merit for a population balance.

i think theres a larger population on the kurzick side because of the kurzick armors. I myself prefer the monk kurz to the monk lux, and same for mesmer.

As for amber, i think its a supply/demand thing. More people want that armor, so more demand for amber, so the price rises and more people switch to kurzick to farm the amber and take advantage. .-. Meanwhile jadeite is cheap.

it's probably easier to just farm and gather up the money to buy amber from people than it is to gather up 10k faction.

Not if you aren't a big pve-er and dislike farming.

Farming for gold get's boring faster than farming for faction (I mean in Alliance Battles or some other PvP type way). Kill a monster that dosen't trash talk back makes the kill less rewarding.

Dislike farming? You have to farm the faction - any way you look at it. Farming quests, farming competitive missions..

AB is not farming! It is mass bloodshed, my way of livin!

More on topic, I hate the bloody Kurzick dogs, just cause their Warrior armor is FTW doesn't mean it all is.. Luxon Ranger armor and Luxon Necro armor(15k) FTW! 15k Sin armor for lux isn't too damn bad either.


BTW the bloody kurzick dogs standpoint is from an RPing perspective, Kurzicks as people in RL I have no qualms with.

I like farming when its slightly enjoyable - not the endless bordom of Securing Echovald Forest. AB at least you can have fun while you farm.

That's exactly why its worth more. More people = more demand. I like the monk and mes kurzick armor but everything else I'd go luxon.

Farming AB never really gets old (unless you run dual smite). Dual smite makes is very boring as you literally wipe out entire groups in about 5 seconds. Anything else is extremely fun.

Waiting 5-6 minutes for a game to start is getting old and I've been a kurzick for only 1 day. I don't have a choice in this matter because my guild is kurzick.

I would like some statistics as to:

How many guilds are luxon/kurzick?

How many within those guilds wear armor from the opposite side?

It could also be that farming faction for AMBER has always been more lucrative than farming faction for JADEITE

Good idea, in fact I was thinking about that kind of stuff when I opened this thread.

I think I'll make a poll about it (if there hasn't been one already?)

I say this all the time and it even makes kurzicks mad when i do.

KURZICKS ARE A BANDWAGON

Everyone joins the kurzicks, first because they thought they were cool, now every noob joins them because they dont want to be some hippy pot smoknig luxon so they decide to be a wrist cutting no balls band loving faction, called the kurzicks. I am part of the kurzicks because i was forced to that side when my guild outnumbered me wanting to join the kurzicks. I prefer Luxons over kurzicks anyday, thats why I will do fortaspenwood and jade quarry for luxons. I will participate in alliance battles also just to keep up my end of the faction but i dont really like to do it that often because i enjoy watching the Luxons do better.

Back on topic, I think Luxons have better players because Kurzicks have more people on their side which makes it tough to pull out the better players and put them all in one game. Groups are always looking for 1 more on the kurzick side, usually 1 more will be someone that has no clue what he is doing and they run off to play the role of Ranbow but they get killed. People like the Kurzicks because they like the scenery in that area more so they boycott the Jade sea all together and say Suxons suck and stuff like that so they nevr visit that part of the game and they are die hard kurzicks till the end...wow....

I prefer teh look of the Luxon side over the kurzicks side, although i find it much harder to fight on Luxon side I get more fun out of it, everyone has their own opinion and most prefer Kurzicks, i dont see that point of view, o well.

I don't see the Guild thread as the best comparison really. Perhaps casual guilds join Kurzicks, or small PvP Guilds tend to be Kurzick, etc. Lots of ways for colinearity (that is another factor) to distort guild figures without comparing figures on the number of people.

I do think a comparison between sides in various comparable towns would be good. This comparison would have to be done at all times of the day, and on International, European, American (and if possible Korean, Japanese, etc.) Servers, and so on.

Number of Districts of Cavalon/House zu Heltzer.

You don't need to change your guild's alliance just go get Armor

The luxons dont have a create time in Factions. Their playtime is worth less, they have 2 friendly Ab maps vs Kurzicks 3, and half their armor is ugly. Its common to see most people in luxon areas to be wearing Kurzick armor. Its no wonder the Kurzicks seem to have so many on their side.

Kurzicks have much better armor and maps. And also if i remember correctly during the preview and towards the beggining wasn;t it the Luxons who had greater numbers than the kurzicks?

My Guild decided on the Kurzick side during the FPE, because most of them had a lot of Kurzick faction before it was over. I did the Kurzick quests, finished the missions, bought end-game armor, and am now doing Luxon quests; it's BUGGING me that I have half a map that I havent explored (lol)...

False. Saltspray is neutral. Each side has 2 advantaged maps.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. A lot of people love Kurzick Warrior 15k, but i find it ugly and much prefer the 1.5k version (except the helm). I would rather have Luxon 15k warrior than Kurzick 15k warrior. But thats my opinion.

Yes... it does seem like theres more Kurzicks because of all the Luxons wearing their amor....but judging from King Simeon's thread it seems more Luxons wear Kurzick armor but are STILL Luxon, so the numbers are not as lopsided as it seems.

I can't decide whether it's funny or just sad that NOBODY is ever going to say they picked one side or the other for roleplaying reasons.

Kurzicks would be perfectly nice, peaceful people, if the playground they're on wasn't full of bullies. The Luxons will outright say, "I'm bigger and stronger than you, so I deserve your lunch money"!

At the end of the game (no real spoiler here), the Kurzicks say that peace was nice, but they'd better look to their defenses, because the Luxons will probably attack again soon.

I was thinking that the Kurzicks were paranoid until I talked to the Luxons. What did they say? "Ooh, those pansy Kurzicks probably have their guard down right about now. We should gather our forces and strike as soon as possible!"

I think that the "look" of each side is equally lovely, and unique, although they cater to different tastes.

The attitude of each side, though, made it easy for me to choose the Kurzicks.
