This is for all of you who are feeling let down by A-net by the recent banning scandal.
If you are really tired of GW and willing to shell out 15$ a month, I suggest that you switch to City of heroes/City of Villains. The devs are very responsive, there are many PR people and the head dev himself often posts on threads on the games website.
there is no loot and no selling, so no spam in your local channel.
there are places where other ppl can see you fighting, and instanced maps.
but most of all, the ppl there are friendly, very friendly. many times when somone's stollen a kill, i send them a whisper, and they send one right back apologizing. teams are easy to find. and b4 you know it your friends list will be full!
(please do not delete this thread as CoH/V is also an NCSoft product)

you really should not be so quick to give up on guild wars just yet... sure this recent banning has been a real test for all of the people involved.. but guildwars is a great mmorpg through and through..
you cannot say there is less a-holes in any mmorpg. withought acknowloging the fact that coh and cov have about half the total population of guild wars.. and that fact in itself is the reason why you see less mean people..
sure guild wars has its share of problems.. but this game has given me FAR more joy than greif..
its amazing that they do these holiday things in the first place.. they could just slap the game down and say.. HERE play it to death..
so i for one am supporting a-net for the efforts they have given. and the fact that gaile even made the choice to respond on the other posts about this when 500 mad gamers where flaming a-net makes it even more obvious that they do care.. i give her props too.
I will never forget some of the great moments i have had in guild wars (drunken pvp) and im sure most of you have some great moments aswell
the simple fact of the matter is that we all make mistakes. even multi million dollar corporations like a-net.
take the good with the bad.. becuase when it comes to guild wars.. the good
ALWAYS outweights the bad.

But, yeah... Not sure if I'm recalling correctly, but, this how most of the servers are looked at:
-Freedom: The Unofficial PvP server
-Virtue: The Official RP server (I say official, because even the devs acknowledge the fact that almost everyone RPs there.)
-Champion: The Unofficial community server
-Justice: Hamidon server. (Hamidon is a giant single celled organism, that pops up every few hours in a certain high level area. It's a raid monster, and gives you the top enhancements.)
-Pinnacle: Drunk server
-Triumph: The "Friendly" server
-Protector: The unofficial caring server
-Liberty: Another "friendly" server
-Guardian: I'm not sure exactly what's so special about this server.
-Infinity: Themed Supergroups server
Everyone views these servers differently, but... this is what each server has grown to call itself.
Anyways, I recommend Co* if you haven't tried it. I did, I liked it.. .been playing since the CoV beta. Currently have a level 46 brute, so... if you're ever on the Freedom server, give Xer'Tul a tell.

On the topic, lots of people seem to be having trouble with NCSoft Support, and going to CoH won't get you away from them.

City of Heroes?...
Jesus christ, what you say about their admins is totally wrong.. I played that for 3 months and got absoloutly bored to shit with it!..
Leveling and grinding with crap graphics annoying sounds and more lag than you can shake a stick at...
despite anets RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO ups I certainly wont be going to CoH

I honestly doubt anyone would play that game if it wasnt for the name of it....make it the exact same game with different models, no star wars references, and a different name and its playerbase would drop to unacceptable levels.
As for CoH, I never played it. I swore after SW:G that I would never pay monthly for a game ever again :P
