Candy Canes: Still hold a value?

I havent been playing GW for ages now just got back into it the other day by getting factions.

I was just wondering if Candy Canes from the last Xmas event have any value, and do ppl still have them.

They go for 500-1k... usually closer to 1k. I'm surpirsed to see how many are still around.

Never underestimate the people's ability to farm. =)

Just wait until next year - if they do candy canes again the farming will be even worse I bet.

Yep - you constantly see people spamming to buy them for 500g each, and people spamming to sell them for 1K.

I'm assuming that a fair price is somewhere in the middle.

I'm starting to think that people aren't actually using them because of their relatively high value other than in areas like the UW and FoW...they are kind of becoming a commodity unto their own.

Hhmm. I have i think 7 in my storage that i have never taken out. For like a month after the xmas event i never knew what they were for. Now that their prices are getting up kinda high i might just hold them until september/october days to sell them to see if the price gets higher. Good to know they still have value. Kinda forgot i had them in there

My monk has 1 left and thats it. He built a shrine around it where he burns offerings to the gods of DP.

Yeah... I expect Jade Wind Orbs to be selling for 2k a piece by the end of next week....

I have just over 1500 left, I farmed a plenty for them during the christmas event and then bought another load of them when the price slumped due to everyone trying to sell at the same time. Mine all mine!

Well i have 124 in storage. I asked randomly if they holded any value in general chat in-game and i got a response that they didnt and he would buy them of me for a low price.. ppl are greedy and selfish on this game :|

Sell them for 600g each and make some profit from it, it's not like your going to use them all up.

Just a tip : If you ask for a price on anything, even something you think is worth nothing, and someone pm's you ( especially when they pm) and tell you a price , then offer to buy it for you for something more then they just said, DO NOT sell it to them.It might be they are tryign to scam you that doesnt know its real value.

So

You: How much for the Uber Gold whatchamacallit sword?
Scammer in pm : man your unlucky that was selling for 10K 2 months ago, but now its only worth 200G (While its still worth 10K but you dont know this)
You : Ah that sucks
Scammer in pm : You know what ill do you a favor and buy it for 500G (its worth 10K which you dont know)
You : oh thanks! ( DO NOT do this )

Most candy cane sellers are asking 1k now. Lots of people will buy them for that, especially in places like ToA, Tombs, etc.

I got Christmas Items, just the wrong ones. I loaded up my storage on CC Weapons thinking they would go up in price, they didn't.

I was a victim of the same false thinking. I use the candy cane weapons now to block of my inventories so I don't sell the good stuff to merchants by accident.

The only exception is my warrior who used the wand once during THK at the part where you take out a few people before opening the gate. Personally, I'd rather charge in but everyone wants to be all slow and careful all the time.

I had about 500 candy canes all from farming gargoyles during christmas. Now, I have around 480(Stack of 250 in storage, some on each character). Only time I even thought of using them was when I'm with a group in FoW. I can't use them when I'm solo farming FoW either. They were cheaper about 2 weeks ago, guess everyone thought the red bean cakes were the equivalent of CCs. Seen them go back up to 1k each now. No urge to use them or sell them.

I got 5 sets of the candy cane weapons too, 4 set went into the trash or to guildies. Must clear inventory! -_-

If I remember right, the Candy Cane Bow isn`t a bad weapon for a non-Ranger to carry in that it doesn`t require points in marksmanship to get the damage.

You guys are all lucky. I wasnt here much during the wintersday events and was on for maybe 2 hours on one of the days and got 7. I still have those 7 which will make me some money. Now this next event im trying everything myself like i did with dragon festival to farm the good stuff.
