factions

Hello i bought another copy of guild wars as i was scammed the first time. my disk drive isnt working and i downloaded the client from the official guild wars site but it's the factions client , if i type in my serial number it is valid but im not sure what game ill be registerd for factions or the original? Do i have to use another client to play the original? And from people who play both what is better?

Why do you think its the factions client?
I believe the client isnt for one or the other its just for GuildWars ( both phrophecies and factions)
when you enter your key im sure the game will know that its for phrophecies and not factions.
I do not think i need to get another client for the reason i said above.
I cant comment on the games ( i have both) Its a matter of taste , sorry.
However i can tell you some bits i can think of now.

My opinion.

Phrohecies : Not so fast leveling,nice story,Better looking characters(face mostly,since the factions ones all look asian)You can earn skills by doing quests.
There are different objective to do on mission that are called bonus.Doppleganger!
There are more but cant think of them now.

Factions:Very fast leveling.A bit of stupid story,some armors look better and are better for specific things ( there are armors that give you extra armor while trapping for example)Some nice scenery,especially in the beggining,10.000 quests ( ok exagerating a bit,but you get the point)
Stupid end ,Boss Sucks.

WHen you download the Client, and get all the updates, You are actually downloading BOTH chapters as the client is shared between them - but when you put the key in you'll only be able to go to Chapter 1 places and get chapter 1 skills.

EDIT: Yes, I know the login screen says Guild Wars Factions, but trust me - all chapters use the same client.

thanks , i realised the client detects what game the serial is for. i thought it ws the factions because on the main menu it had factions on it. ive came across another problem!! it says i have an unsupported video card , i clicked continue , set up my account logged on designed my character then the first city (ascalon city) when it got to 100% after me waiting half an hour on it loading it came up guild wars has to terminate because of a video card error or somthing like that, but i cannot see the problem the main menu and everything else worked perfect. can someone please help... it would be appreciated alot.
