22 Avg FPS with a Nvidia Geforce 6800
ElRey
Is 22 avg FPS normal with a Nvidia Geforce 6800? Not unlocked, ill unlock the pipes soon to see if a difference occurs.
I once used the windows driver verifier to stop it from BSODing, dont know if that did the trick to make it slow.
Im running everything on high except for shadows (med) and 4x aa
3400+ AMD
1 GB ram
Win XP

yep yep. looks like everyone is having problems just like me. Turn off your sound and you should get 30 FPS.
There is no solution but all this posting may put pressure on..

if turning off your sound helps, then its not your graphics card.

What version of Direct X 9c? (there was a june release)
Latest Drivers? (Version 91.31 is the latest)
Are you running anything in the background?
What resolution are you playing the game at?

If you lower the quality what happens?

I have a Geforce 6800 too, and although im not getting 22fps (i get around 60-80 on average) I also used to have BSOD problems too at least once a day untill i upgraded to the 91.31 drivers recently.
What still bothers me is how the fps can plunder from a smooth 85 to 10 no matter what graphics settings i have. One thing i have noticed is on all the GWforum tech help forums i see "poor performance" threads posted along with the poster owning a "Geforce 6800".
The rest of my specs :
Geforce 6800 128mb
2ghz AMD Athlon 64 3000+
DFI Lanparty Motherboard
1GB Ram
120GB HDD
Latest Nvidia drivers 91.31
Latest Dx9c
Windows XP SP2

the problem is sound related.
I have this fps drop too, and havin -nosound helps... "Alot".
Theres a big thread about it on gwonline.
I'm guessing something is wrong with the latest directx or anet's sound patch.

Helll is for Heroes
its probably graphics card related, do you have integrated sound?
ElRey
No matter if i turn AA off, move my settings to lowest, I still get the same FPS as if I had them turned up to their highest setting.
Ill try the no sound advice.
A bit of a prominent Fact - I was playing this game around 6 months ago at the highest settings with the same computer and it was running at a smooth 60 FPS always.
I also believe I am running this at the 91.31 drivers and at 1280x1024.
Ah and yes I am using some odd C-Media Integrated Sound device i believe, but I am not using a Sound card, so My best guess is that it is integrated :P

It "most" probably is sound related

-nosound should fix yout problem. I was having the same difficulties and once I used -nosound everything went away and I have no more performance issues.
sleepy samurai
Do you have vsync on?
X-Bomb
still sucks anet has not fixed this stupid sound problem. its being going on for ages and it was since the sound update/sound update fixes, we know it and they probably know it, but they probably dont care, or seem not to care to fix it.

I have almost the same setup. I also have a sound card instead of integrated sound which is probably why my system wasn't hit as bad with performance issues in GW. I still get certain spots where the FPS will drop to 7(maybe a badly designed area) but its normally a smooth high frame rate.

ive been running winamp with ff7 ost for like ever ? Ever since that sound update..
I rather listen to winamp then to lag in game with guildwar's music.
Btw, any1 not lagging at all ?
Mind telling us what directx version you're using.
I'm using the june revision. And yea, the lag is still evident.

Im using Dx 9c, and i did nosound, no difference, 91.31 drivers, all pipes unlocked, even OCed, no difference. I dont get it, I used to have it running at 40-45 outside and 30-40 constantly in battle.
