A fellow Guild Wars play has left us.
Shinjinbukai
On the day of July 5th in the early morning. A fellow Guild Wars player was killed in a single-car accident. He was a personal friend who was the reason I got into Guild Wars. He did not deserve to die. I have seen people die in video games so many times I do not register it, but having my friend die, in real life, and having his charactor never log on again... This happened in WoW and I hope it will happen here. I hope we can get a huge group of people in like Ice Tooth Cave or something to remember this Unique individual. Garth Li we will all miss you. WHY DID YOU HAVE TO GO YOU DID NOT DESERVE THIS! Anyways I hope we can have some sort of in-game feneral or something to remember that killing and death happens in real life and that we do not support it, we just play a game. A game that a fellow player once loved to play. I think this would help him rest at piece. Garth if you are out there man, I am doing this for you. For the people who do not believe me. http://www.paloaltoonline.com/news/s...ry.php?id=3173 is the link to the news article. If we get enough ppl who want to comemorate a great life I think we can make this happen.

Dont forget that you have to do it in the middle of hero's ascent. Dont worry The Koreans will respect you. Just kidding.
Sad thing to happen. Name the place and ill be there

Sorry to say this but your pretty cold hearted.
Let the people that do care show there respects.
You are invited to do so not obligated.
PS: My fullest regret for the loss of a community member.

1 of 125 people or so die in a car crash. It's a fact... according to my rules of the road handbook given by the secretary of state.... but it sounds a bit high doesn't it?

After all you dont risk the chance that you will be raided by some huge clan.

RIP friend.

You are aware that the online funeral in WoW resulted in complete chaos where everyone got killed and the online character of the died person was finished in a 2 hit combo.
I dont think its a good idea, a mail or card is hundred times better.
my condolences

This sucks--losing a friend ALWAYS sucks--but it honestly has no place here. Organize a funeral among those you know, but this will undoubtedly draw quite a bit of negative attention.
Zorian Direspell
My sympathy for your loss. I know how badly it can feel to never be able to continue the life and adventures you shared with the people you lose. In the coming days, I'm sure many more people will say 'I'm sorry' or other trite phrases that won't bring much comfort. I wish you didn't have to go through that. Remember to tell stories about your friend, and don't forget the lessons you learned from the time you had with him. In your deeds, his memory will live on.
Caleb
For your own good, please do not try to mark his unfortunate passing in game (in a public manner).
You will find more hurt and anger from what you will see than you will find happiness and closure. The negativity and anonymity brought forth by a virtual community will abhor those who have a real life stake in the event, and you will be outraged at the behavior you will see.
Just friendly advice from someone who has seen it transpire in several attempts at in game memorials - don't.
Best wishes to your friend's family.

Tend to his family and friends, not to a community where some punk @$$hole might come and ruin it.
Best wishes

Have a funeral outside of the game, not in it. It's just going to lead to flames.

Our condolences on the loss of your friend and our fellow Guild Wars player. All sympathy to you and to his family and friends, as well.

Rest in Peace
However ya I wouldn't hold a funeral in a GW public place like ice tooth cave there are people from that WoW alliance in GW so they might have bad ideas about what to do.
However perhaps you could hold the funeral in your guild hall.

Best place would be the guild hall if people are causing trouble you can just remove there guest privileges.

Much like it was said, it is better to keep it a private memorial and not a largly public one. you will be angered by people who don't know better, don't care, and want to piss off others in any matter possible.
I wouldnt hold a largly public one, and if there was one, i would go and probably be angered myself at the behavior that will most likely be evident.
And yet, may he travel safely to the Mists, and be among those in the
Hall of Heros!!!

I have a shield of anonymity on the internet, and I COULD choose to act like an asshole about this guy's death, but I also have a strong code of ethics and I won't. It's too bad I can't say the same for others on the internet. So it's best to leave the mourning to real life people and not to people over the internet who lives thousands of miles away and probably don't care.
Eet GnomeSmasher
Just let him be. People mourn in different ways and in any way they can. As long as it's not harmful then let him honor his friend. I bet you wouldnt want someone to tell you how to mourn when your loved one dies.
If you don't agree with the way he's doing it, then dont post.
