I dont own either game, and tbh never owned an RPG in my life but this just looks to good.

A friend of mine on another forum just bought factions without owning the original and he gave it 9.5/10 so i was tempted to buy that, but doing a bit of research im not sure becuse the original looks good and apprently lasts longer, what would you say?

PS: Would i be able to run it with a Geforce 4 mx 440 128mb, 512mb of ram and 2.66ghz?

thanks

Start with Prophecies. That is so much bigger than Factions.
It will work for you, but not flawlessly.

I think you'll become a better PvE player with Prophecies, and understanding how the skills work will help your PvP game tremendously when you start out. Prophecies eases you into the game and gives you time to grow and experiment.

Factions is like the fast track to max level, forcefeeding you the basics and throwing you out in the world where 7 other folks are relying on you.

Get prophecies first, then hopefully by the time you finish you can jump to chap3 instead of factions, as chap 3 will be made by a half decent dev team.
Also the PC specs are ok, aslong as you dont intend to play an interrupter.

Agree, with consensus. Prophecies better than factions.

Factions ends too quick, and is boring. Too much grind, and has a horrible story. Also, if you are new to the game, it's really hard to get good enough by the time Shing Jea Island ends. I recommend getting Prophecies, and NEVER getting Factions :P

Tomander please don't listen to those players that say Factions is boring, or ends too quickly. Factions goes by fast if you are a 24/7 gameplayer. buy both if possible you'll benefit from that when updates are made, also for prophecies its abit unpopulated because Factions is out and everyone moved on to Factions.

Prophecies does have alot more to offer, but that doesn't mean Faction sucks. The enemies will be easier for you to handle in Proph. and you will slowly level which will help you get used to the gameplay and enjoy it. In factions you get leveled up faster and you will encounter lvl 20+ foes. Personally I think that is too hard for players who are a experiancing the game for the first time. So make your decision, don't listen to those players bashing Factions. those players just don't know how to take there time with a game and enjoy it.

agreed, it took me a while to finish factions, because i went slowly and enjoyed it.
and actually, since my two tyrian toons reached cantha, they only go back to tyria to farm, and my canthan born characters, only have set foot on LA to get tyrian skills.

as J snukka said, if possible, get both, they are worth it

If you only get the original, you'll spend a lot of time playing by yourself. Keep that in mind.

The PC specs are fine, even for interrupting. I'm on the same graphics with a slower CPU and I don't have any problems playing an Interrupter, though I do tend to let my graphics settings hit rock bottom for the most intense areas of the game...

Anyway, I won't bore you with my opinion on which to buy first in a 6 page report.. I reccomend starting with the original campaign and working your way up.
