If you could make your own dagger, what bonuses would it have? Presuming that it will stay within the confines of thegw stats law (basically it cant go above the regula).

Mine would be have to be a zealous hilt, not sure about suffix though. Doesnt seem to be any worth noting. Maybe fortitude for extra health, against degen. wouldnt pick deefencive ones as you should be in and out. going solo the defence would help.

Anyway, your perfect dagger? zelous? poisenous? of enchanting? vampiric? etc.

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Dagger lists what's already in the game. I've got Bramble Everthorn's Chakrams and Chkkr's Pincers (both of which I got as drops) mounted, and find them an excellent combo, one zealous and one vampiric. I've also got the Ceremonial Daggers, some icy daggers, and a couple others.

Staying within the rules of GW, that keep the game balanced puts a tight shoe on what specs daggers can have, and the advantages of one dagger type over another. I've heard that the slashing daggers are in general a bit better than piercing daggers, but I'm not sure even that is true.

because they do slashing damage as opposed to peircing?

Why is slashing suppose to be better than peircing anyway?

I guess while I'm on the subject, and speaking purely from my own experience in the PvE mostly solo henching perspective, I would say that daggers are not the limit of what an assassin can do, nor should an assassin always charge in with daggers. We are assassins, drygulch 'em from an ally, gun 'em down from a rooftop, try not to shoot it out at high noon on mainstreet because you usually lose!

1. In addition to daggers, every assassin ought to have a longbow. You can find "no attribute" longbows on the island that are 8-11 damage, but any longbow will work. When out with henchies, the longbow is a great way to initiate combat. Once the henchies are aggroed, then you can use your shadow step spell to go after the healer and then get other troublesome softies like earth ele's with your daggers. Also with some bosses (the Rit Bzzr Dustwing for example), once they are alone, you will find it quicker to get back to longbow range and plink them while the henchies take them down at range.

2. An A/R configured as a Critical Barrage Archer is sometimes better than the dagger configuration. Henching Raisu Palace works much better for me as a Critical Barrage Archer, the mileage of others may vary. Adding a pet is a lot of fun with the Barrage Archer. Poisonous bite and an interrupting lunge, plus an interrupt arrow skill, Barrage, and a penetrating arrow skill, and you can do pretty well. You can skill cap Barrage from the first or second boss on the Boreas seabed mission. You can cap level 15 Dire Tigers in Pongmei Valley outside Boreas, in the Yeti area with a number of attempts. Took me 7 tries.

Why is slashing suppose to be better than peircing anyway? Most (not all) characters have extra armor vs peircing, such as Necro's with Bonelace armor, etc. Also anybody who uses and/or is under the effect of Shields Up! with take hardly any damage from peircing daggers, if you can even get through the block ratio.

Some monsters just naturally have higher defense against peircing than slashing, but some are vica versa

I recently found some Cruel Oni Daggers of Defense, and am wondering if I should replace my Shiro's Blades with them.

Me, I would like Barb Daggers of Crippling, or Defencive Sai of Reduction (damage)

I would like the daggers to be interchangable like the hail and Fortitude mods for a staff.

Heck I would like have the daggers seperated to right/left handed like one that is Vampiric Daggers of Shelter and the other hand would have Zealous Daggers of Warding
