Geforce MX4000 Question...
Isil`Zha
Yes, I know, an old card, but I have an odd problem:
I have a 3DFuzion Geforce MX4000 128 MB PCI card, and GW runs pretty good at pretty good detail... save for a few things.
Water effects look flat and plain, and the emblem on my Guild cape doesn't "shine" like it should.
Now here's the odd part: My friend, has the exact same video card. 3DFuzion, same memory, PCI - exact same box. But he does get those effects. In fact, I seem to be the only person that doesn't get them. I tried to run GW once on my step-brother's computer, but it only had an integrated card - it ran like crap but it too had the correct water effects and cape effects.
Oh, and the specs of my friends computer with the same card are below mine. And yes, I do have the latest video drivers for it, but I can't for the life of me figure out why I'm getting less effects than my friend with the exact same card...

Won't let it stay enabled. Same for him - his is off too and he still gets those effects.
Oddly enough, bosses do have their glowing aura with post-processing effects turned off even though the support on the GW site says it needs to be on for that to work...

Blade Rez

Oh yes, sorry, I'll take several and edit them into this post.

Same thing happened with my Geforce 2MX..
Anyways, can you check the graphics settings in GW and tell us if it says Renderer:DirectX8/9?
For some odd reason it always used DX8 with my old card.

Yeah, it's using DX8.
However, here's the weird part though - my friend has the exact same card in every way. And he does get those effects while we both have all the same settings.
Here's the problems:
"Flat" Water.
Plain Cape.

Exactly the same as my old graphics card, didn't even know the cape was meant to be shiny until i got a new one.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure that the realistic-waterness effect is only available with DX9 as the renderer. I haven't a clue how to make it use DX9 though, i tried re-installing dx9.0c, different drivers, etc..
So i'm clueless on how to help you out

Again.. here's the thing:
My friend has the exact same video card and he does get those effects. The rest of his comps specs are below mine...
And I didn't know they were supposed to be shiney til I saw it on his computer.... bah!
