In PvE most groups sit for a long time looking for a monk, healing rits lower the time spent looking for a healer.

Restoration Rits can be better than monks in some cases.

They have some useful skills that can provide nice long term support. Monks are more direct in healing.

Resto Rits generally are more capable of healing party-wide damage.
I prefer a Rit Lord with Feast of Souls, and then a healing monk, as my backline.

Once you've seen a good restoration rit in action, you'll see why some monks love having a restoration rit along to ease their job. You just need a good group who understands how to help the restoration rit be at his best.

Restoration Rits are good for several reasons. They can heal on a global scale, Monks typically heal on an individual scale.

Restoration Rits bring a healing spell that can cure a condition. Monks bring a spell that cures a condition that can also heal.

Ritualists can resurrect dead party memebers without getting to close or without losing all of their energy.

Restoration Rits can parties quickly with lots of healing, but it takes a Monk a long time to recharge to do the same.

Restoration Rits are a little more easier to comeby than Monks.
